Eagle and JE?

im planning to build a 383 this winter for the camaro.

i was thinking of the Eagle ESP 4340 Forged Crank and the ESP 4340 Forged Steel H-beam Rods.

for pistons i was thinking of running JE pistons, forged ofcoarse, flat tops with valve reliefes. i want the motor to run on 89 octane pump gas.

if anyone has any experiance with these products let me know.

I'm running Eagle Forged Rods and Crank with JE forged flat top pistons...no problems so far. Just be careful with your compression ratio if you want to run on 89 octane.

yeah your best to not have compression much higher than 9 to 1 if you wanna run mid grade

I ran 9.4:1 compression on 87 oct with no problems so as long as you stay under 10:1 I'd say your safe with 89 oct.

As for the J/E/ Eagle combo, I run a eagle 4340 crank and H-beam rods with custom JE pistons on my 412 with no problems.

My friend ran a 9.9 on his 412 with the eagle forged 4340 crank and H-Beam rods with J/E pistons. So they can handle power nicely, but we did have some fit ment porblems with the Eagle crank.

nothing out of the ordinary, just had to clearance the block and bottom of the cylinders a bit for the rods to clear them, the h beams give lots of cam clearance but come closer to the oil pan rail area, my big block runs a 4.625 stroke, now that takes some clearancing
