1le+ Cd-rom
Anybody here have the 1LE+ CD-ROM? There is a sidebar in the new high performane chevy rag about it. one of the board sponsors on here sells it. It's 30 bucks and I was wondering if it's worthwile or just a rehash of stuff that's allready available here on thirdgen.

Somebody else posted about it awhile ago. It's the GM parts catalog on a CD.
I did the 1LE conversion without the cd and had no problems.
If you are looking for part numbers, a search on here should get you everything you need.

The CD in question is not a GM parts CD, and I don't believe Andy is a board sponsor. AndyZ28 was one of the very first to convert stock brakes to the 1LE version. I found the pictures in his CD to be quite helpful.

The guy that's selling the cd used a photo of another member's car without permission (check out the thread noted above), and if you don't believe the cd is a GM parts catalog on a cd, (to which he may have added his own pictures) check out his disclaimer, where he claims that he is providing the information under "fair use."
Fbodycd.com is a board sponsor.
Here's a quote posted by robertg on another thread:
i did some digging, and found a disclaimer on fbodycd.com's website.
here it is, in its entirety.

Still think it isn't from a GM parts catalog?

Well I dunno, that CD looked useful, though not essential. I think that Andy's done a reasonable job of putting together a CD of useful info, and $30 or so is a fair price for it.
Unfortunealty when I shoud have got it with my $1595 pro series brake kit, Steve Spohn claimed it must have been "lost in the post" So I can't tell you anything about what its really like.....
Funnily enough he also went a bit quiet when I pointed out that his front sway bars don't fit my 1985 iroc-z, like not even close. Hey ho, its only money....... But certainly my money ain't going Spohn's way ever again!

Andy's 1LE CD and the F-Body CD (both of which I have) are entirely different CD's. The later is indeed a GM parts cat (and a board sponsor). Andy's is not.

You are saying that these are two different companies, one of which took GM information, and the other didn't? Just want to make sure that I understand this.

Yes, two different companies. The disclaimer is from the Fbody CD (which uses GM info), not Andy's. Check the following link to see what Andy's 1LE CD is all about:

So.... It's woth it then? I think it has more than just the brake upgrade stuff. does anybody have a copy of this they are done with and want to sell? I'm not completely sold on the 1LE setup, is there something better for the same money?
There's a guy (ebmiller, I think) that has information about installing Corvette brakes on the Camaro. Do a search. The problem with the 1LE mod is that GM has discontinued a lot of parts.
Baer and other companies also have some nice (meaning expensive) upgrades.

While GM has discontinuted 1LE parts, all but the spindles can be had from Spohn:

Most of the 1LE guys did their mod before the C4 stuff became available--or I might have gone that route myself. I believe the C4 stuff is cheaper. Parrydise is right, check with Ed Miller, who sells a kit.

Well I looked at the Spone stuff and I think I could probably do it my self cheaper. he also sells the 1LE+ CD-ROM which says "So much information it would be impossible for one person to duplicate" I dunno, I think I can get through it.
