When to use longer pushrods???
First I had gotten 1.6 rollers for my 305 and the guy said I also needed longer pushrods. I learned very quickly that longer pushrods = very crappy idle.
When I built this engine, I got Performer heads and they said you need longer pushrods. My idle is bad (not as bad as it was with the 305)... do I need stock length?
I can't seem to idle worth a crap under 1000 rpms. If I do go to 750, then it wants to surge like a vacuum leak, but I cannot find one for the life of me.

1984 z28 w/ a 357 cu in. monster engine which is looking like the posterchild for Edelbrock... all the suspension stuff... 9-bolt posi disk is in... K&N filter... 93 octane...

Ahhhhhhhh, pushemrods...
What you need is a pushrod length that will place the contact point of the rocker arm and valve stem right in the middle of the stem in the middle of the lift of the valve. This will make the contact area between the rocker arm and valve stem as centered as possible most of the time.
