Not sure about that one but I got a Fastchip in mine and it seemed be a noticeable difference.

bump your timing about 2 degrees - same thing the "performance chip" does and its free. The off-the-shelf "chips" do basically nothing for actual power gains. Several people have actually slowed down with them.

- do a search. Always search first, then post. Most questions have been asked several times so you'll find more info by searching than by posting. Post if you still have questions after doing some research.

ok my q's are
#1 if i knock timing up doesnt computer compensate for changes ( going back to factory specs)?

#2 faster timing = hotter temps the powermaster allows opperation of 160*stat without engine overcooling it changes all temp sensitive things to opperate in a lower range*

dont waste your time with over the counter chips.

not unless you bump it high enough to have detonation. - then the knock sensor would pull timing. The computer only controls the timing curve(which is programed in the chip) it doesn't control base timing, that you do with the distributor(search key - you'll find the proper way to set initial timing)

again, not unless you go to far. The over-the counter chips do nothing to change temp related equipment. The simply bump the timing/curve and want you to run a lower thermostate to keep it from detonation, which is possible with their higher timing amount.

- factory base timing should be around 6 degrees. I've run as high as 10, but some motors won't go that high, and some poeple have run 12. - just bump it in 1-2 degree increments and see how it feels/sounds.
