hooker super comp headers vs edelbrock tes headers

right now on my 89 firebird i have the edelbrock tes headers. For the price of the hooker super comp headers, would it be worth it? Edelbrock is smaller, i think it is 1 5/8 and hooker super comp is 1 3/4. Since I am running the HSR i thought I would need more exhaust but since i have dual cats, cutting and welding lots of $ and time. Thoughts?

hooker headers are way superior to edelbrock's...the edelbrocks are more about emissions, the hookers are about flow.

As far as I know the only company that makes 1-3/4" shorty headers for our cars is SLP. The Hooker Super Comp 2055's are 1-5/8". However, they are vastly preferred over the Edelbrock headers by most of the members here. I'm running the Edelbrocks right now, but only because I got a killer deal on a set of used ceramic coated ones, otherwise I'd have bought the Hookers.

The Edelbrock TES headers are very ver thin walled. A heat shield spot weld broke on one of mine and left a hole. Edlebrock replaced that but I had to eat the coating charge. Then a couple of months later hit a pretty big bump and broke one of the pipes that goes to the passenger side collector all the way around.

Don't waste your money on the Edelbrock TES. Go with the Hookers or Hedmans.
