It is an external balance 2 pc. rear main seal. If the motor you are putting it in is an 88, it is a 1pc rear main seal.

Well, they are all name brand parts, exept maybe the rings.

The only thing i dont like is the wrist pins are pressed and not bushed.

Hrrrm, for that price i would probably jump on it if i had the cash.

Like eveything else it depends on the intended application.

It's an entry level kit. It'll work fine for an entry level performance application.

We've done a good deal of the same kits. They're generally worked well for the customers who have used them. They're not designed for max effort, power adder or pure race cars - so buy the parts that reflect your intended use.

I'd also check to see if it's balanced - a 13005 is an unbalanced part number. Considering the price is below jobber already I'd ask if it really is already balanced or if that's a typo. Unless they've performed the labor, or ordered it as a "B" part number, its an unbalanced kit.

Hope that helps,

Brian

I'm also looking into building a 383 and found this kit, it's internally balanced $720, with free shipping, anyone have any experience with these guys?

Same kit essentially with an internal and 1 piece RMS option...

Eagle's internal crank instead of external (and without the balancer/flexplate normally included.) They charge the same for 1 or 2 piece rear main, most of the time its just specifying one or the other.

Same brand, same crank essentially, same rods, Speed Pro / FM pistons.

my dad and i just finnished building up a 302 for a 66 mustang. i know its not chev, but the point is the same. we were told by a reputable engine builder in winnipeg here not to bother with an externaly balanced crank. even though my motor is only pushing out about 350 hp, he told us to go internaly, its better all around. that is if yu can do it
