MAC catback & offroad pipe

I know that some of you have had nothing but problems with MAC stuff but I have to say that the cat back aand offroad pipe that we got from them is great. It has a 3" pipe into the muffler and two 2 1/2" tailpipes out into 3" tips with resinators. The system gives a good basey sound (unlike the high pitched poppy sound like a Borla) more like real muscle car. The whole exhaust system is made up of Headman shorty headers, custom made Y pipe that is 2 1/2" off of the headers into a 3¼" main pipe (all bends are manderal bent), the MAC 3" offroad pipe, & the MAC cat back system. When we ordered the cat back system we ordered it from a friend (Doucet speed)and he ordered it from MAC. It was delevered to my door with in a week. right now there is a video of the car street racing on the www.hotrodchat.com messageboard. When you get on the message board just scrool down till you see (Nova guy & Gina Vs. Dave) a little Dallas Vs. Houston action. Dave has the red LS1 car and Gina is my wife with the blue 82 Z28. Of course she got beat because she messed up shifting and the motor is fare from tuned in but it is getting better and will be reracing him soon....lol.

I can't say enough good about the MAC products I have used. There may be some that are questionable, but I haven't seen any. Their catback is really great quality especially, and if you take the time to look at the flowpath of the muffler, it's most likely the best crossflow muffler out there. Very low restriction. Sounds great, easy to install.

Their reinforced rearend covers are just as high quality.

The only other product of theirs that I've seen is their headers for 4th gen cars. They also were really high quality and relatively easy to install. As easy as it can be on those cars anyway. Their HTS coating is really durable from what I can tell so far also.

I hate MAC products.
a friend has one on his 89 IROC and the muffler rusted.
I put MAC headers on my friends 94 Ranger 4.0. They didnt fit worth a broke **** . Then, the bolts backed out after 2 weeks.
I will never buy a MAC product. But then, everyone is entitled to their opinions.

As for mufflers, I use a straight through muffler with one tailpipe. 4" diameter.

Good luck

The system we got is HTS coated also and we have not had any problems with it yet.

Do any of the mail-order places carry MAC stuff, or do you have to buy factory direct?

I got it from Eddie at www.Doucetspeed.com. I don't think Summit, Jegs or P.A.W. carry them though.
