ATTN: Custom Computer chip owners
Well, Christmas is comming up pretty soon, and I need to tell my parents what I want. I was thinking a custom Comp chip for my car. I know the TPIS ones can get really expesive, but what about other companies that make custom chips.. If people could post what they payed for their chip, and if they liked it or not, that would be appreciated.

Unless you have a aftermarket cam and/or heads I wouldn't get one.
The thing to do is get the equipment to make your own chips as listed in the tech articles and it'll cost about the same, may be a little more, but then as you get more mods you can change the chip!
I don't know that much about 305 mods but and MSD ignition is nice and a little cheaper than a custom chip. Or a AFPR or a shift kit ( if its a auto).
In any case Good Luck!

O ya, have an apfr, a .495/.502 lift cam, pullies, and air foil.

Do not purchase a custom chip from JET. Can't speak for their off the shelf stuff, but they did not even change the injector constant (from 19# to 24#) on this "custom chip". They even lowered the idle speed to 450????? What a freaking joke. No customer support - not interested in fixing the problem - don't waste your money on them!!! I doubt if anyone there owns or owned a thirdgen.
The smart thing for you to do would be to get the stuff to burn your own chip for your car while its close to stock and get good at doing it. That way when you start throwing parts at it youll be able to adjust for them. These cars dont respond to thrownig parts at them without doing computer tuning. Ive learned the hard way. I wish the first thing I bought would have been a programable ecm. The chips like hypercrap and jet do virtually nothing for a stock car but turn on the fan sooner.

I now you are looking for a custom chip. I recommend Performance Resources if you are going to buy one. They have always had good customer contact with me, and always seem helpful. Plus if you just buy their aftermarket high performance chip and want to upgrade to a custom chip, all you have to do is send them back your original chip from and pay the difference... Kind of a nice deal.
But if you do want to go for the ultimate, definitely learn how to program your own chips. It defintely would be cheaper, easier, and you can modify as many chips as you want.
On a side note though.. I would think about working on the suspension stuff first. Most people over look this part and it is one of the most important ones. Rule of thumb is if you can shave off a .1 in the 60' mark, it shaves off .2 in the quarter mile. And suspension upgrades and near gears will greatly enhance this.
