pro comp heads???

i know i will be scrutinized for this post but here goes. i only want to hear from people who have purchased these heads and there real life experience with these heads. how was the actual performance/quality of these for you, were they what you expected? thanks

flow numbers see far to good to be true for the price, but curious if anyone has had any personal experience with then.

Flow numbers as tested on a Super Flow Bench:

- .200" lift / 147 CFM

- .300" lift / 204 CFM

- .400" lift / 249 CFM

- .500" lift / 261 CFM

- .600" lift / 268 CFM

EXHAUST:

- .100" lift / 57 CFM

- .200" lift / 101 CFM

- .300" lift / 157 CFM

- .400" lift / 177 CFM

- .500" lift / 186 CFM

- .600" lift / 190 CFM

Re: pro comp heads???

I have aset of pro comps and they worked fairly well. I am pulling them off, and will be getting them flowed just out of curiosity. I had a thermostat hang up and couldnt get off the freeway((construction,no shoulder..bumper to bumper.) I blew a head gasket, but im pulling both of them just to get em checked out.

heres the catch. I got in a head on car wreck in aug.so it slowed me down a bit. I will be getting the numbers for ya tho.

there is another thread for pro comp heads, try the search feature. alot of people are having good success with them.

i did see the other thread about the heads and seen the one guy runnin 12's off them and he was happy, everything else was nothing about the heads, just that the rest of there products suck, electric stuff and valve covers. how soon you expect to get the flow numbers?

Re: pro comp heads???

they look alot like the patriot 195cc heads i got... and is that 600$ for both heads assembled? i think thats prob per head and if thats the case... at 1200$ i would just get a set of trickflows or get the extra 200-300$ for the AFRs. they dont look bad at all... as i said alot like my patriot 195cc heads... they are basically the same. more importand is price/budget and the kinda of motor your building... expected HP etc...

i only paid 890$ for my patriots assembeld and shipped.
195cc aluminum heads, 3/8' screw in studs, studs included, as well as guidplates
270cfm at .600 lift, factory hand ported, stainless backcut valves, and 5 angle valve job
dual spring roller cam upgrade good for .655" lift and vitton seals
partly CNC bowl blend. same deck thickness as the procomps
dual intake bolt patterns drilled allows vortec or regular chevy intake
as well as centerbolt or perimeter valve covers.

yeah its for the pair, thats why i was asking, even if you spent a little on porting or wanted to swap out valves or springs you are still coming out cheaper than any other aluminum head in the market. i havent seen anything bad about these heads yet

loneroad i noticed you have a 383, did you ever get any 1/4 times with the pro comps. im in the process of building a 383 MR right now so am very curious in your results with these heads
