Simple Green, excellent engine cleaner.
This stuff cleaned my engine in under 5 minutes. I spent more time spraying it on than I did cleaning it off. It was completely grease free by the time I got done and best of all, there was NO lingering stench like you get from the diesel based cleaners. I ran my fingers over the valve cover and they squeaked even, not a drop of any kind of on my hands. Once it was washed off, there was no smell outside OR inside the car. Diesel cleaners left the inside of of my car reeking of the smell for at least a week since I have to run the AC.
I was really shocked it not only cleaned so well, but as fast as it did and I only used a normal garden hose with a sprayer. Before, I did this with the Gunk style cleaner at the high pressure car wash. It worked so well, I used it on my other car, a 1999 Z28 and that engine was only lightly dirty, mostly with sand and dust. I really recommend this stuff.

you mean simple green?
we use this stuff all the time in the navy. it is ****ing bad *** stuff. works great on dirt and grease and you found out. just be careful and make sure you dillute it, it can be very potent undilluted and ive heard it can strip paint if you just let it sit if its fully concentrated...smells good too!

Yeah, I seem to have mispelled the name. I fixed it now though.
