Which Ignition?

I was hoping someone could help me out on picking the best igntion on the market. There are so many to choose from. I just want to know the plusses and the minuses of them. I know Crane has some Holley now makes them and MSD and many others. I just would like to know what you guys would go with, what's the most reliable, easiest to install, the best bang for the buck. I have a 350 bored '060. with a Crane Compucam 268/274, Edelbrock RPM manifold, Holley 650 duel feed, The old style HEI, Hooker Headers, AFR 190 heads, Keith Black Pistons, A crappy y-pipe - dumps into a 2 1/2" mouth of exhaust then into 3" Dynomax. The ride needs some hotter spark. Thanks guys

I'd say MSD as well.

Make sure you get someone to include your MSD ignition in reprogramming your PROM or you may experience slight power loss.

I've got to go for Jacobs' Pro Street. Although the theory behind capacitive discharge is sound, I like the idea of a variable ignition determined by a co-processor. I used to run MSD and never saw a difference. The difference is noticeable with the Pro Street.

I'll put a plug in for Jacobs as well, although I have an Omnipack. The weaknesses of the standard HEI are the coil and the module. The coil is just plain weak, and the problem with the module is its inability to saturate the coil at higher RPM's. The Jacobs turns the HEI into a trigger only, and replaces the stock coil. It's a great system, hardest part about installation is finding a place to mount the box (no harder than another other system).

I've never owned a MSD, but you sure see a bunch of them on the track. My otherwise stock Camaro has an Accel HEI Supercoil, which is fine for now, but I'll need a module upgrade when improvements are made.

I gotta go with MSD. Thier tried and true and I have never had a single problem with any MSD product I have ever bought.

I have to go with MSD. I have had some experience with Jacobs and wasn't impressed. Don't get me wrong, its good stuff but not worth the difference in price, the big difference in price. Despite what others say, I dropped 3 tenths after installing MSD 6al, blaster 2 coil, and wires.
