Spohn Precision front end rebuild kit
Anyone use the Spohn Precision front end rebuild kit? No matter what I do the idler arm doesnt fit well onto the centerlink when the pitman arm is attached to the centerlink... And vise versa.... There was no problem with the old linkages... What gives? Should i send it back and ask for another kit? Im pissed.

Re: Spohn Precision front end rebuild kit
I attached everything together before putting it on the car...
1st ... idler arm hooked up the the center link.. Was tightening the castle nut down and couldnt tighten it all the way cause the joint in the center link was spinning along with the nut.
2nd.... Finally got the nut tightened down (bottomed it out).. Was still too much free play.. I could grab the idler and move it up and down... I could tell it wasnt tight against the center link...
3rd... Attached the center link to the pitman arm and hooked up both outer tie rods to spindles.... No problem there... Now when i went to hook up the idler it didnt line up to the bracket on the body.
4th... Unhooked the link from the pitman arm and attached it to the body bracket... Now the pitman arm wouldnt go onto the center link flush... You could see that it was going on crooked... Mind you if i torqued it down on side of the pitman arm would have touched the centerlink and on the other side id be able to slide a quarter in.
5th.. Tried the reverse on 4th.... Hooked idler up to body (disconnected from the center link). Hooked link to pitman arm.. Tried to hook it to the idler and got the same gap as well as i cant get it tightened down cause the joint keeps spinning again.
I dont know what the issue is.... Its either the idler or the center link. IMO.
Question... The Idler arm should be a press fit right? Cause if thats the case it comes off without a puller.
