so accel came out with the new distributor cap for the hei and im going to go pick the only one i found in my town and next town.

has any one else pick this up? i wont be able to intall mine till spring time.

I use to use Standard's Blue Streak because they had the brass contacts and could get them local. But now with the internet I just buy MSD from Summit. Never got anything bad MSD (knock on wood).

I don't understand what they mean by "corrected" cap though.

Ok that is what I was thinking when I started to read this thread but the image did not look like that kind. I did not look like the later GM crab caps that do that.
I do like that clean look though of the wires out on the same side.
Mow you will need to get a buildable spark plug wire kit so you can make them all the right lenght to keep them smooth. Then the cool plug wire holders. With the bowtie. Hmmm, what else can I add to that, lol

 

I'm gonna get me one of these. $49 from Summit but it says they won't ship them until Feb 16th. What stores will sell these?

 

You should be able to find these at Advance or AutoZone.

You are correct it routes 1357 on the drivers side and 2468 on the drivers side. It allows for cleaner plug wire routing.

 

Look up "crossfire".They've made a cap like this for years.Thats basically what the accel cap is.Crossfire is a funny name for an ignition part, but ive had one for years & it works pretty good.Not as common as accel.I think Summit &/or Jegs sell em though.

autozone and oreilly dont have it yet advence is the only one that has it in store right now thats where i found mine.

 

I honestly didnt know they offered that. That's good to know. I'll deffinately install this on a future HEI cap.
