Quick Jack by Ranger/BendPak

Haven't posted in a while but I am changing the engine in my 1992 Formula 350 that has a rod knock. Bought a 1991 Corvette L98 with 41,000 miles on it to replace. I wanted to take my time and remove everything as carefully as possible. I though about buying a MaxJack from Bendpak and while on their website I found this.

Re: Quick Jack by Ranger/BendPak

So I bought it and had to wait about 2 months to get it. Overall it looks good but unfortunately didn't come with any instructions or hydraulic fluid to set up. I sent an email to the rep I set the purchase up with. Waiting for an answer.

Re: Quick Jack by Ranger/BendPak

I wanted to take the transmission out from the bottom and the engine from the top. Either way I need to get under the car so that's the reason for purchase. We will see how this goes. LOL

Re: Quick Jack by Ranger/BendPak

did you notice they dont show anybody under the car in all they're adds? i'd feel better with some jackstands under there too. kinda looks like a PITA that you cant get under the car from the sides if you leave it there?

Never been a fan of scissor jacks, great for the track, not so much for major work. Lift gets in the way a lot.
I have the maxxjaxx, they are great, only take a little install work. Just have to drill anchors with a hammer drill.

Re: Quick Jack by Ranger/BendPak

I paid $900.00 for it. I plan on setting it up and testing it tomorrow. I most likely will put a set of jack stands under it as well just to be extra safe

Finally got the thing set up. It works perfect and there is a whole lot of room under the car. All aspects can be worked on.

Re: Quick Jack by Ranger/BendPak

the system has lock bars once lifted. I would determine once I got the lifts if I felt comfortable trusting the lock bars or using stands for backup if I bought one of these. also, if your in a simi limited garage the lift moves the car backwards when lifting so you would need to make sure your car is far enough forward as to not hit a wall or the garage door once fully lifted.

when I work on my FORMULA I like to have my car as far back as possible so I have the most room up front which is usually 10 ft from my box is why I thought about my last statement.

I may consider something like this. my ques is, is it taller than a trans on a trans jack? if not i'll stick with a floor jack on each side and raising one end then the other.

The 3rd gen torque boxes are asymmetric (front narrower than the rear). How did you get this to work for a 3rd gen?

Re: Quick Jack by Ranger/BendPak

A guy in my car club has one of these. A bit more pricey than the quick jack, but no hydraulic fluid or floor mounting required.
