Best Piston upgrade?

Who makes the best pistons for a 305? I'm on a budget, so which ones would be the best for your money?
Thanks

what are you wanting to do? high quality and low price are seldom found together.

He's right, it depends on what you plan for this engine. I'd say if you stay under 400hp then the factory type cast pistons are the way to go, otherwise you will be paying a bunch.
A good quality piston from JE would probably be in excess of $800+ per set, and probably not needed if you stay under 400hp.
Cast aluminum (factory type) pistons are not all junk, and they have several advantages over performance models. They just will not resist the heat as well as race-type pistons so it's best to run a little bit richer A/F with those.
Money in the pistons generally doesn't yield any performance gain, so it is better spent elsewhere until you reach 400hp or more.
