well, after installing this little beast i'd have to say; 'why in the world did GM put the regulator RIGHT under the TPI plenum. the regulator itself is a jewel but others can be had for a little more money, but for that money you get a new diaphragm usually.

some problems we faced that were not directly related to the afpr:

1) runner gasket tabs on the old gaskets broke inside the runner, so the new gasket tabs wouldnt go in, made it difficult to reattach the gasket.

2) plenum would not fall directly into place where it was originally for some reason so that made it difficult to bolt the runners back on.

some problems we faced that were related to the afpr:

1) maybe not a problem but i would like to see it come with a new diaphragm.

2) the screw setting, when left at the suggested "stock" setting was etching into the bottom of the plenum when the plenum was put into place. the fix for this was to cut about 1/2 inch off the screw.

all in all, it was a learning experience. the best design to combat the problems we faced with the screw is the accel design with the allen wrench setting, although i dont know how well it works.

blue looks nice.....

i used the tpis and it went rather smoothly; heaven forbid i had broken the little aluminum piece that the hose hooks up to? i would not have been happy. but, that was the worst obsticle.

the AFPR was definately worth the money, wish someone had told me years ago when i had bought the car.
