advice and help needed

i have decided that im going to use an edelbrock 750 cfm electric choke carb on top of my zz4 350. im also going to use the hooker shortie headers, and a flowmaster american thunder cat-back. MSD 6aL, Street pro billet distributor, Holley wires, and blaster 3 coil. will all this work well together? what kind of horses should i be picking up?

Is 750 cfm for this motor too much, or is it fine?

i am converting a 305 TPI to a 350 carb, so was there a past thread or something that talked about switching fuel injection to carburated, what i need to do to the fuel system to make the carb work etc.?

(o, can i use parts from my 305 like the starter or other parts?)

thanks!

I think the Edelbrock 750 is a good carb for a street driven ZZ4 motor. If it were mine I might consider a better intake in the future but the stock ZZ4 intake is a good start. You MAY want to get the kit that goes with the carb. It has a lot of rods and jets to allow you to adjust the carb. There is also a good manual with it that helps with rod and jet selections. If you need a idle compensator for your air conditioning let me know, I have a brand new one I will sell cheap that is for the Edelbrock 750 carb.

The parts you mentioned are good. I am not sure about the wires, I am a fan of MSD wires. Is the distributor you mentioned MSD? If so that is an awesome distributor. When I did this I used the Blaster 2 coil but that is a matter of choice I guess.

The fuel system is going to be a problem. Some will have you install a bypass regulator to lower the stock pump pressure. Personally I would remove the stock pump and replace it with a pick up assembly from a carbed F-body. When I did mine I replaced the pump with a section of steel tubing and it worked fine but if I were to do it over I would get the correct pick up for a carb car.

Just my opinion.

EDIT: Please remember this is for off road use and your car may not be emission legal.

Why convert over to carb? Cost?
I think fuel injection is the way to go. I would keep the fuel injection unless I was building a pure dragrace car.

i dont want to buy fuel injection, its like thousands more, and then i look at the price of a nice edelbrock carb i probably will upgrade in the future to a pro-flo efi settup from edelbrock. i love that injection system. if i am able to sell my 305 with the tpi system for a nice amount of money in the future, maybe it will offset the cost... decisions decisions...

i was thinking of replacing the fuel lines with all new ones, a new mechanical fuel pump and filter too. will this work? and the distributor i mentioned was an MSD

You will not need to replace the fuel lines just the pickup that is in the gas tank.
