If it is original fan,probably something else wrong with the cooling system-as basicly the same fan was used on 350 C4 Corvettes and non-AC 3rd and 4th gen 350s through '97,so plenty for a v6. '90-95 Taurus 3.8 used to be a common upgrade fan,but those are getting back in the past pretty good now...

Likely overkill for a V6...I would just get a factory replacement fan. It has worked fine for 34 years right?
