Gears
Gears
I have a 87 camaro with 350 tpi and i am looking into changing my gears. I have a 2.73 limited slip rear end in it now with disk brakes.
Does anyone know a good brand of gears? im guessing i have a 2 series carrier and i want to put 3.73s in it. Has anyone done this change befor and how did it work out?

Richmond are good.
Yes, you have a 2 series carrier. 3.73's might be a little steep for a stock 350 TPI, 3.42's might suit the engine better.

There are far better people in the know on this board, but I did a lot of research before going from 2.73's to 3.42's. The one thing I got a ton of opinions on were that the Richmond gears make a lot of noise. Most recommended US/Strange and Motive. I ended up buying GM 3.42's.
Further, the majority voted on 3.42's on a 350 TPI with 700R4, but there were some who swore by 3.73's.
Obviously you need to get the 3 series carrier if you go with the 3.42's or 3.73's, whichever you choose.
Oh yeah, and my application is with 350 TPI and 700R4 that I swapped in, not the original TBI 305.
Good Luck, and I'm sure others will share their information.
