Alright, I've got a 3" cat back system from edelbrock, but without the front end of the exhaust, it sucks. Whats a good set of headers (with Ypipe that goes into a 3" out), and then whats a good Cat to put between them. I need to pass emissions in Mass still.

Go with the Hooker headders, and a 3" Dynomax super convertor. Youll definatley be happy with them.

Their model 2055 headers do, along with the air tubes and the bung for the O2 sensor. Another cat that is highly recommended is one from Random Tech. A little pricier than others, but they typically flow more from what I've seen. Get the headers coated if you have the money ($200-250) to keep the heat inside the headers and to protect them from rusting.

I was just thinking about wrapping them in that tape, is that comparable to coating them?

-edit- also, I couldn't tell if the cat was included in the hooker header set, I would think not though right? Did you guys have any installation problems with these?

IMO I wouldn't wrap the headers, you spill oil or anything flameable and it'll catch on fire.

You could also run SLP or Edelbrock, it all depends on how much you want to spend.

That is Hooker's part number. If you get them from Summit, they'd be HOK-2055. They are shorty headers (the picture in Summit's on-line catalog shows the wrong headers) with a Y-pipe. Coating is an option from Hooker (add a -1 to the end of the part number), but those are on back-order from Summit. You could have them sent to Jet Hot or whoever for less money.
