WTF Comp Cams ?

Okay, here is the story. I ordered a camshaft about 4 weeks ago. They took the money out of my account and everything and told me it would take about 10 days to arrive. So, 2 weeks later my cam hasn't arrived and I call them to see what the problem is. Come to find out they have no record of me ordering the cam except for $250 they took out of my account. So I had to reorder it and wait another ten days. So today was the tenth day and i called them just to check on everything and they haven't even began to grind the cam much less ship it and they don't have any explantion why either. So i was wondering does everyone else always have to go through this sh** or is it just me. Sorry this is so long I'm basically venting my anger

I called Crane about getting a cam from them. They are in Daytona, which is only about an hour from my house and Jeg's and Summit said the one I wanted was on bigtime backorder. The guy at Crane said I could get it from him but they just sent all they had to Jeg's and Summit. He said a lot more of them went to Summit,so I called and ordered it from them. They said as soon as they got it they would ship it out, probably a week. After about 2 weeks I called to check on the order and was informed it would be sometime in late September due to the manufacturer. As soon as I hung up the phone I called Jeg's,they said they had two in stock so I ordered it and cancelled the Summit order,I got it in about 2 days. I guess I got lucky with Summit not already taking my money, because there was other stuff on the order and I told them not to send it until they had everything.BTW,which cam was it ?,mine was the 104224.If it is Comp's version of this cam it is in pretty high demand right now.You said it was $250,that sounds like it.I know this "novel"dont have a hell of a lot to do with your situation, except that everytime you call you get a different story.Hope you get your cam soon,I need to get mine out of the box and in the motor!

your probably better off ordering anything from someone like Summit or Jegs rather than the manufacturer. They carry most all of the cam lines and have better customer service.

Okay, here is the latest news. It is the fifth week I've been waiting for my cam and they finally have it ground. Meanwhile my motor is sitting on an engine stand waiting for it. So I decided to go pick it up at Comp Cams instead of waiting on it to arrive. It is about a 7 hour drive there and back so I call them to make sure they didn't ship it and they said it was "right here" waiting on me. I went to go pick it up and when I arrived I asked for my cam. Guess What? They already shipped it 5 days before! They mixed me up with a guy from Florida getting a Chrysler cam. They offered me 2 Comp Cams T-shirts to compensate for their mistake.
I took the T-shirts and ASKED them to pay for the shipping also. Which they did but they made a big deal out of it. Lesson learned---- Don't buy from comp cams direct because they don't care about customers and they hire complete morons.

I've had good luck with comp cams, and so have the people i know. But there's always foul ups mixups and F*ckups no matter what you do.

in which case, bitch loud and get free stuff cause it aint your fault.
