Last fall i got mine for $3995 from Scoggin-Dickey. The price has gone up this year for some reason! Gm Parts Direct is good i guess, i have never used them. Now the price is up to like $4195, that is what i paid for shipping too. It cost me like $175 for shipping, to a business address. I do not know if the price includes shipping this year. Scoggin-Dickey is alright to deal with. At first the tech guys were dicks but the last couple of times i called them up i got some helpfull people. This spring they gave me the wrong info on the hot cam kit and ofcourse i paid too much when i did not even need the whole kit! good luck, remember, almost everyone is out for money, it just so happens that these places have cheaper prices

so....

you got the fastburn 385?thats cool...i want this one because it seems to be the best bang for the buck . what is your 1/4 mile time with the new motor? what do you think of it performance wise and reliablility wise? gmpartsdirect has the fastburn for 4025 i believe but thats without shipping i think and plus, shipping to Newfoundland (the island) in canada isn't going to be cheap either but i am going to keep saving!

Well, i am doing the swap as we speak! I have just got the motor re-assembled after waiting for the head gaskets and we put the cam in. By the end of the week we should have the motor out and next week this time i hope to have the engine bay preped for paint. I can tell you that a guy with a similar setup was running low 13s and he claims that was due to loss of traction, little tuning, and the fact that he did not have the hot cam. I am hoping for 12s with traction. I don't know, we will see. I am also running the miniram as well! Keep saving, thats what i did. After i got the motor i ran flat and i was just able to get the hot cam, miniram, and other parts for it. GOOD LUCK, i'll post the results and pictures when it's all done.

You can't beat GM technology in a small neighborhood engine builder shop. Crate motors from GM are the way to go. Try Jim Pace Performance Parts, they are less expensive than Scroggin.
