Yeah, I need to get 2 estimates. I think I will go to the Pontiac dealer and chevy dealer tomorrow for quotes. What is sad, is the fact that no one said anything about. I go out to the car and I am just , like, amazed.?????????????. Is some bad service or what.

yikes.. 600 for an allignment is crazy. the garage around here does one for 30 bucks but free to me
edit: yea if i were you go to the most expensive place where you know you'll get a nice job. make them *******s pay for charging you that kind of ridiculous amount of money.. and i would also make them sign something saying they did that.. just for your benifit so they don't try to say they didn't do it.

Sheesh, that exact thing happened to me too, only not nearly as bad. When we put the car down the door rubbed the fender as I opened it. I was like, fix dat **** right now. He's a buddy of mine so he bent it back out from inside the fender and it came out mint. I think he lifted it front the wrong spot on the hoist. I hate when my car goes up there and it's not on the drive up one ..

Ooch I would go and get an estimate from Pontiac or Chevy dealer and tell 'em you want fender and door replacement not repair and ask 'em how long is gonna take, then get an estimate for a car rental. Add 'em all together then go to court and sue Pepboys for that amount of money.
Good luck

that doesnt look like they just bent the fender by pushing on the wrong part under the car..
it looks like they had it on a 2 post lift, had the door open, and backed up......... just my opinion.....

Well, after 8 weeks and numerous phone calls, I got a check for around 1400.00 bucks. In the mean time I found another shop that will do it for like 600.00 bucks. However that is without replacing the fender. Infact he even popped it out for me, I will just take it back for some finish work. What the heck, I will see if he can just touch the whole car up. The shop manager told me to give them another chance, when it comes to tire roatation. As you know they are off-sets so the have to be dismounted. He said he would not charge me. I dont think so...................
Thanks for the support guys.

Believe or not I've been turned away from a couple of tire shops, when I show up for tires in my Vette for that very reason you had experienced...
They consider it a liability, and don't even want to touch it.
The one shop that did put on tires, broke one of my pressure sensor on the rim! Mind you, I warned them several times that the rims have pressure sensors. Did listen??? hell no. It did cost them 150+ bucks for a new sensor.
BTW: Tony, losen all your lug nuts, and retorque them to proper values. Those meat heads probably just have the impact wrench set to high. If the torque values are mess up, it could result in warped rotors, and other uglys poping up down the road.

Pep Boys Closing
The pep boys near where I live closed two of their stores. The only good thing about pep boys is that they stock everything you could ever need for these cars.

Ive never been to pepboys, but My friend has a dodge shadow and the ignition broke, so they went there to get a new one... They now have 2 keys to it that look identical *he calls it his chevy shadow makin fun of the camaro, lol* thats not the problem... but they took the liberty of switchin the dodge logo off the hood to the trunk... WTF. Mabey it belongs on the trunk, but its NOT their car!
My expirence like this is I went to get emissions on my old camaro, and the guy was walkin around it on the dyno thing, and tripped and ripped off my gas door... GRR he offered to super glue it back on or give me free inspectionis... I Took the inspection because glue or a new one isnt $40 I dont care too much, the junkyard here has the same color yellow at the time, but I was too lazy to get it, lol

I took my 01 z-28 in for a tire plug, they did the same thing, they lifted it up right on the fender . The problem with that is there is a seam there. I raised 40 hells and the gun was in the drivers side seat. Pep boys, will go bankrupt before I ever, and repeat ever give them any money. These guys are the worse hacks ever. I would rather take my car to the dealership before I ever go back to them.

yet another pep boys horror story.
that company needs to pull its head out of its ***, and come up with some stricter minumum requirements for hiring it's employees.

WOW that sux. i work for pepboys and yes there are the idiots there that will lift it on the pinch weld and crushes it like on most 3rdgens. glad u got money to fix it.
every f-body (no matter what yr) that comes in and andy mustang too, the lift always gets put on the subframes, worked on my friends brothers 02 ss convt. and i had no problem, felt like i was liftin my car, always on the subframes.
i got pissed one day at midas becuz i was gettin my cat replaced and the one lift they have goes on the pinch weld and nothing but the pinch weld, needless to say i didnt do anyting mainly becuz my pinch welds are so screwed up from people doin that, i just say well i gotta replace that soon or try and bend it back.

All I can say as i am glade it wasn't my RED GTA.........
My Black GTA WELL I WOULD HABVE RATHER PISSED......
Paying for damage's LoL For one the service would have all been free + paying for damage's if it was my 87 GTA........
Now if it was My 91GTA I would have just found out who wrrked on it...........And well.........
pepboy's would of paid my service my damage's...........
The the Little weasel that did nasty deed would have been hunted down like the Dog he was and then Before my car was fixed i would bouced his skull of of every bent body panle......
NoBody But NoBody Harm's My 91GTA,,,,87GTA is well a nice car and it's shiney but it ain't got the nice rounded front so the 87 Don't mean as much to m,And it's a L-98 that is only running 16.11's so it may run nice but it ain't real healthy........rather it's tired.... thw 91GTA has a completely built motor and i am doing the rest of the drive line now......
This is why I service my car......OR I sray na d watch them Work on it when It Need's stuff I don't have the equipment to do....
Well if it was the 69 S/S AMX......well you wouldn't even want to know.......I don't even want to think about what i would of done if it was the AMX
But so how pepboy's would have become property of JSM/M&R.........

Actually u can find out who worked on your car. if u look at the final invoice, look where they have what work you have listed then look over a few inches before the price, like between the parts/labor and the price, it will give you the persons last name and thats who worked on the car.

you should goto the lounge at www.allmakescombined.com and post pics there for the admin to see... its not really a car site, more of a BS forum, but the owner would love to see pics of your car.

Too bad
All those places suck!
Pep boys, Good year, Firestone,Auto zone, Western auto, Sears etc. They hire anybody who can walk upright and then pay book times (book times which are for a pit crew/ experts no less) to complete a job. So these guys rush around cut corners and break sh*t.
What I listed above are all franchises (except for Sears.)and service differs from store to store, so there are people out there who would trust their infant to them, and others that have stores you wouldnt trust with road kill.
I worked at Firestone for two weeks in 1998 before I left. They had no tech manuals a usless CD rom manual that was so vauge and useless it looked like it was created by a 5 years old girl.
No hardware like nuts, bolts, even lug nuts and wheel studs (remember this was a tire store).I remember I was given a 1 hour pay to do brake job on a 4wd import suv with the autolocking hubs, I told the manager I wasnt sure how to do it and never had before. He said "just do it anyway", it took me two hours but I did it right later that week I left. I am so glad I am able to work on my own car and I am always willing to work on the side with someone elses car for much le$$ and much more care.

*** Lord man, I would have lost it. Altough, I don't really take my car anywhere to be serviced, and when I do I SIT with it. (within 15 feet)
It's crap like this that keeps me busy in my own garage. You can't really trust most places to care for stuff that does not belong to them. There are exceptions of course, and they have very loyal followings.

fair warning, never EVER go to pepboys. i work for sears auto alright, and we fix all their mistakes all day. they counterbalance tires, use the wrong color weights(size is by color) and give the lamest excuses when you ask them about something they dont want to hear. i bet they say that dent wasnt their fault. going to try and blame it on someone walking through the parking lot or another car.

I went to pep boys just to get an inspection and they wouldn't do it because they said my car was too low to get on the dyno, i can understand that. But when i got there they also told me my cat was banged up real bad and had to be replaced. The cat was two weeks old and was perfectly fine. The other day when i was there the i saw a guy flip out on the manager. I would never trust them to work on my car.
