I like this last part "HYPERTECH has just been sent an e-mail message letting them know that you have seen this page. "

Great way to get companies to listen you would think.

I don't get why people buy hypertech chips. Like a generic tune can be anywhere near what your specific engine is going to need.

I hope that they will respond and at least refund your money. I really like the way you set up your complaint to try to get action. However, if they are that insensitive to their customer's needs, it probably won't help. Everybody should do that.

We have known they suck for along time. Not only that, take a look at their chip for a 1992 Automatic 350 TBI truck.

hypertech

Just in case any Duramax guys/gals out there hypertech for Duramax work VERY well. So go ahead and use their stuff in your tow rig. I have used others, and $ for $ you can't beat em. No I don't work for Hypertech but I am a diesel tech. So you can tow/haul your third gen to the strip quicker!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess that I am in the minority on this one.

I needed a new chip for my car, because the old one was fried.

Got the chip and the required 160 degree thermostat.

Knock on wood, everything works well. While not a 350, this little engine has enough torque to have beaten a new and fancy Monte Carlo LT [V-6] today. By the time the next light came along, we were way past legal speed, with me kicking dust in his face by several yards. Not bad for an old piece of you-know-what.

while there isn't much detail to this thread hypertech on their simple stage chips don't do much alterations to the code. your much better off finding a true company that can properly tune your setup. however, if you are in need of a chip and can't find one for you factory motor they are a great alternative... just overpriced.

160 t-stat is just flat out too cold.

All Hypertech does is change the fan on temps so your fans run literally 100% of the time and they throw in timing at/near WOT which is where a factory TPI car doesnt need it.

I have compared 305 and 350 auto chips and a 305 5 spd.

For the money u spent u can be doing your own.

later

Hypertech has been garbage since the beginning of time. It dosnt matter if they had the best customer service in the world. Its a waste of money.

I read this all the time and I just do not understand why people say this.

It depends on the set up.
