SLP headers
SLP headers
Hey guys have any of you had any problems installing SLP headers on your cars? The headers and pipes are all made to high quality however the cross over pipe which is suppose to go between the cross member and oil pan will not fit. It touches the oil pan when in place. I had someone tell me they had to flatten the pipe out alittle to get it to fit. I called SLP and of course they have never heard of that. I also felt if the pipe was about 3/4 longer on the drivers side it would clear. So I wanted to buy another pipe to cut up and play around with.Well guess what no extra pipes and they say 2 months until they make more. There was no possible way that pipe would fit my car. I spent hours and I mean hours looking it over and trying to make it fit. Finally last night I cut the pipe and added a piece 5/8" just below the drivers side flang and the pipe fits good with 1/8" between it and the oil pan. Thank god I have watched American chopper so much
, making the change to the pipe was not that bad. Just some grinding and a few tac welds to line up things and it looks good. The only problem is my spacer is regular steel not stainless.
