If you read my posts as complaining, you need to sharpen your reading skills. The other people (UMI/Spohn/BMR) need to lower theirs. I'm hoping that Founders success opens the other places eyes to their high prices.

 

IDK about all that. I dont see there being much profit margin for most of founders stuff unless they are really mass producing it. If they are happy selling for that, more power to them, but i dont see it.

that said, i have some of their stuff anyway. Certain things are hard to pass up for the prices offered.

I too am curious about the whole J&M/founders thing. Not sure what the deal is there.

 

Why question it? Who cares who owns what as long as the quality is there and the price is good, they have their reasons to do so, although it has NOT been confirmed as far as I know, could be a tax issue, I dont care. Just give me good parts at great prices and I won't care if their name is "pink girly foo foo undies".

Its basic economics, its capitalism at its best. A company offers a product that is cheaper and has equal or better quality wins the consumer over.Founders also probably does not have the overhead that lets say umi,spohn,bmr. also they probably dont have fancy packaging or advertising. So keep up the good work founders hope to see more products, lets say a torque arm cross member set up.

 

I already know founders double rod end's are going in the TA this spring.

 

idk, i would be hesitant to buy car parts from that place, not sure what the ups driver would think of me when he delivers the box.

 

are there offset "on car" adjustablr control arms worth the money, or should i just buy the regular ones? the car is lowered 2" all around

 

You only need offset LCAs if your wheels & tires require them, like my 315s & 11" wide/7" bs wheels.

 

i do plan on running 10" or wider rims (ones that fit without major fab work) i want to run a 295 or bigger tire

 

I just ordered LCAs and an on the car adjustable panhard bar from Founders on 3/7/12. I'm looking forward to getting them after reading the positive reviews! I went with Black being I like going with the sleeper look.

 

I'm going to be ordering the founders camber caster plates next week, can't wait!

 

I just got my strut tower brace for my 4th gen. Its a very nice piece. Love the semi gloss powder coat.....

 

I'm looking forward to getting the parts I ordered from Founders. Only problem is when I try to track the parts I ordered 5 days ago I still get "Awaiting Fulfillment". Then I call and leave voice mails and emails for a few questions I had, I get no reply??? I can understand if he is busy and the parts might take a while to ship out but it would be nice to get someone to reply to my tech questions when I leave a voice mail.
Edit... They got back to me today, they seem to be very busy and my parts are just waiting to get powder coated... Looking forward to getting them.

 

I'm still waiting for my order# 3482 if your reading this Founders. I ordered on the 7th and today if the 22nd, parts still have not even been shipped. I was told over 10 days ago they were waiting for powder coating, its been more then long enough. If I don't see that my order has been shipped by the end of this week I'll be cancelling this order and going with a more reliable company!

edit...just spoke to Founders and they said my parts will be shipping out today.

 

When are those subframes coming????? I'm almost to the point of buying MAC's, let us know when they are coming please!!!

I have had mine in for a while they are perfect but I am at the point of needing sfc. I really like founders quality and I want to wait for thier sfc after i get them Im going to get thier strut mounts.

I am not going to get involved with all the BS in this thread.

I got my Founders adjustable panhard bar from them with just the poly bushings, not the rod ends, and so far I am extremely pleased with it, especially for the price. I got it within 3 days of ordering.

 

Its more than just hiring more people, growth is great thing but also puts a huge strain on a small business. The demand has to be there for the product, I am sure if they were inundated with hundreds of orders they would be trying to get it going sooner. Remember there is placing ads interviewing, and then training the new workers. Then you need Additional space, tooling, payroll and health insurance for every new employee. I have been through this is in the body business, you go thru stages, when the economy was strong in 1990-2002 people restored cars. They came in and spent 10-30K to restore their GTO Body and paint only. Then the economy tanked, I can tell you there is nothing worse than laying off employees, firing is one thing they have brought that on them self. Sometimes it is better for a business to stay a bit smaller and tries to figure out how to meet production until the demand becomes so great you have no choice but to expand.

I have several of their products and I am very pleased, I will also need SFC, so if they do not offer them I will need to go elsewhere. I will order what they have to help support a business that sells quality products at a fair price.

 

How hard is it to design a set of sfc if you already have the capability to make them for the 4th gens?

 

Hiring more people will take away the main appeal for Founders over UMI. They will have to increase their prices to pay for more employees. The quality from Founders and UMI from what I have see is about equal. So the only reason for me to go to Founders is more reasonable prices. I just don't think they will be able to keep those more reasonable prices if they have to hire more people to keep up.

So I don't think it has anything to do with the difficulty of designing them, just as Founders posted, the difficulty in keeping up with current orders as well as trying to pump out new products then having to keep up with orders on those as well.

Like I said, I like founders for their low price, and I've been trying to wait for them to produce SFCs as well and see if they maintain their prices on them. But I'm probably going to either build my own or order a set from UMI soon.

over time they will make the parts that sell, and making parts for a car body that has not been made in 20 years, heck we are lucky they makes parts the the 3rd gen Camaro at all, alot of compys have stopped! and moving on the the new cars. (the ones guys are still Buying)

i say thank you for a part that I Need! can use and what i was looking for at a unbeatable price. LCA w/Rod ends for under $120. all the money i have dropped with Sphon.makes me sick. I would like to say.

I did design a set, crayon and notebook paper is all you need for that. I dont have a welder, oven to bake the coating, pipe bender but they have everything to make the sfc. If they need a car to help with designing it I will let them use my car.

 

What do you guys mean by rod ends when you're talking about the LCA's w/rod ends?

Is that the difference between the Poly/Swivel joint combination:

Why would you need the swivel ends vs. solid? I have a LB9 5 spd. that I plan to get about 260hp after engine rebuild and mods if that makes a difference...nothing insane

My suspension is stock and I don't plan on lowering it, so I was hoping to get the regular LCA & Panhard bar as shown in second link. Do they include the bolts to mount them?

What's the LCA additional hardware they sell as an option for $10.95?

Yeah? So you have all the interfaces with rear LCA's, pinch welds, front subframe, mid subframe. And you have the clearances worked out for the bump in the floor pan, exhaust clearance, cat to floor clearance? Unless you have a scale drawing of a thirdgen in crayon you need a more robust plan than that. Things that seem easy on the outside, present themselves with problems once you dig into the detail design.

Founders stuff is so incredibly underpriced its not even funny. Its hard for me to fault a company like that for slow product development. I am sure they are to busy filling orders.

The $10.95 is for the mounting hardware for the LCA's only.

 

I would think there is enough customers that are requesting and ready to buy them that they would maybe go into over time to get the ball rolling on these. I agree they have great products for the unbeatable prices but we want more products.
