Lon @ Top down solutions, and his trunk motor rebuild kit!

I just wanted to say Lon and top down solutions are great! I ordered my trunk rebuild kit (204040) on sunday 10/19 at 5pm, it was shipped 10/20 at 9am, received it the next day on 10/21! The packaging was nice and firm. I Installed it this morning and everything went great!!! Finally a fixed trunk after 3 years of driving it bad lol. Some quick notes on the installation of the kit; the instructions were great although YOU NEED TO READ THEM OVER ATLEAST ONCE BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL THE KIT. As it actually says on the instructions i found it really easy to know what everything was already as i unscrewed my trunk interior panel. The hardest part was getting the nylon guides on correct. I tried all the different ways to install them and it wasnt going smoothly still. I grabbed a file and SLIGHTLY filed down the "O" guides and smooth as butter!!!

Quick Synopsis on TDS:

Shipping and Packaging:5/5

Conversation turn around on Lon: (2-3hrs in email) 5/5

Kit contents(Quality, correct parts) : 5/5

Worth the price? YES! Thanks TDS!

Before

What i found when i tore apart my stock unit!!!

Re: Lon @ Top down solutions, and his trunk motor rebuild kit!

i had to file my guides a bit and swap the carrier they ride in as it was a bit tight. I have a small crate of extra hatch motor parts so I tried a few and found the best fit.

not everyone has that luxury so a tweeking of the carrier may be needed. I worked with mine till everything slid like butter then I re assembled. I also bought Lon's re enforced case. once adjusted it worked like a champ and even the sound of it was better.

would do biz with again A+

Oh, look, ANOTHER glowing review for Lon.

Is there a single negative review of TDS on here?

If there is there will be very few. He has a perfect assortment of stuff you can't get easily and sells (IMO) for reasonable prices.

Re: Lon @ Top down solutions, and his trunk motor rebuild kit!

Only reason I havent spent more money with Lon is...I bought a whole box load of stuff probably 5 years ago that I havent had time to install yet! haha.

I exploded my hatch motor hitting a bump in Philly years and years ago. When I went to buy the parts to fix it, his site had so much other good stuff that I shopped a bit. A lot of it is still waiting to go in.

Great business he has!

Re: Lon @ Top down solutions, and his trunk motor rebuild kit!

I just wish someone made a replacement reversing limit switch for these. I had to put a manual switch under the license plate for the pull down operation. Took my switch apart, cleaned and lubed, still wouldn't flip half the time. I suspect this switch destroys quite a few units when it doesn't work.

Wish granted. I sell re-manufactured reversing switches for these pull-down units.
