ThirdGenParts.com

I recently moved from Baltimore,MD to the west coast of Florida. While in MD the stock posi rear end started making some grinding noise and was starting to make me nervous. I had a local shop inspect and quote me a price to repair what they thought was a bad axle bearing. It was kind of pricey so I decided to tempt fate and wait on getting it repaired in hopes of finding a replacement disc rear as mine currently had only drums. While in MD I was unable to locate a decent rear. When I moved to FL I again began the tedious process of hunting down a 3rd gen rear and was again unsuccessful. That is until I discovered Jim and Andy Blackburn, owners of ThirdGenParts.com. After searching the boards and reading reports of excellent customer service, I decided to go and see for myself. I met up with Matt and Andy at their shop in Tampa and was exited by the selection of 3rd Gen parts. It turns out that they had just what I was looking for - a Borg-Warner 9 bolt posi rear complete with disc brakes. They gave me a very reasonable price on the setup and when they found out I was limited with work space in my own garage offered to install it the next day for me - on a Sunday morning no less! They even let me watch and assist in the job, something most shops would never let you do. Between Jim, Andy, Matt, and their father, they had the old rear out and the new one in in less than 4 hours. While disassembling the old rear end components, they discovered a dangerously worn brake line and a bent rear stabilizer which they offered to replace at no extra cost! While in the shop a set of professionally polished aluminum 92 Z28 rims complete with Z rated Toyo tires caught my eye. It turns out that they were a set that Jim was planning on installing on his own car but he was still willing to give them to me for a good price.
After the install Andy went with me on a test drive to make sure everything was working correctly - which it was.
I would like to personally thank the ThirdGenParts.com crew for their personal interest in my car and their attention to detail. I planning on using them for all my 3rd gen parts needs.

Thanks Again,

Shawn

Now that's a story of service at a good price that I like to hear! By the way, what did the rear end cost?

Yeah....those guys are great!!! VERY VERY quick responses, courteous, friendly, etc. etc. I haven't had the need to use them too much, but when I did it was great.

Sitting Bull, basically it was a package deal with the rims and tires and rear end, but the price I walked away with for everything was well worth it.
