Boycott Performance Wheel Outlet, Inc.

I just thought you guys would like to hear this story. I've been really excited to get 18" IROC wheels on my car since I saw them on my friends car over a year ago. I finally got the money and decided to order the wheels on May 10, 2001. I was told they would be shipped in approximately 4-6 weeks. I thought that was a reasonable wait, hoping that they would ship in about a month. Well May and most of June went by. I called and called but kept getting the same story, "the wheels would be shipping soon". The wait was now quoted be 6-8 weeks. I waited patiently for another 4 weeks. Long story short, after 14 weeks I got my wheels, but the story doesn't end there. After such a long wait I expected the wheels to be perfect, but I found a defect in one of the wheels. If the defect was small I could live with it but these wheels will be professionally painted and polished so even small defects will greatly detract from the appearance. These wheels were supposed to be inspected by Performance Wheel Outlet prior to shipping and they weren't. I mean part of the wheel wasn't even machined, it is left raw like the cast wheel. So now it has been 20 weeks and I still don't have my wheel. I keep calling but the story is always different, "the wheel shipped yesterday" or "the wheel will ship today". Pure crap, they will not even except complaints, because they are a corporation. They will not disclose the names or contact info for anyone higher than the call agents (i.e. CEO or CFO someone concerned with customer image of their operation). Supposedly I have been talking to the Customer Service Manager but he will do nothing to expedite my return or compensate me for the time I've had to wait. It is not like I want to get a free wheel but I would like some recognition for spending over 1000 dollars at their company.

Please boycott their company:

Thanks,
Josh

If you check out their web page, there's a link titled "About Us" that indicates that:

PERFORMANCE WHEEL OUTLET is owned and managed by Robert McMath, who has been engaged in the Custom Wheel Business for over 25 years.

Perhaps a letter to the owner, with a copy to their local better business bureau might generate some action.

I assume you have 3 and are waiting on the 4th now?box them up and ship them back.If no refund is givin then persue it legally.dont waste anymore time dealing with them.If you paid with a credit card then you have more options with your c/c company. If you paid with a check then see if its been cashed,if not stop payment, but be sure the wheels are on thier way back to the place. If youve already mounted the 3,you cant send them back so youre in for the wait.I dont care how long they have been in buissness,if you screw one then youve screwed many more before and after.

who cares how long hes been in the buissness. If you screw one then youve done it before and will continue to.Im so sick of hearing, well they have sold 1000 so its okay to screw one person. If you paid with a credit card you have more options then if you paid with a m/o or check. If a check see if its cleared,if not box them up and send back what you have(3 I assume) and stop payment.Ship them back first though. If you paid with a c/c call your company and they will work with you.I would not wait any longer, send them back and demand a refund,if you dont get it then legal action will be needed. If you mounted them then you will just have to wait on the 4th wheel, sad but true. The BBB will do no good in the short term.Go to all sights and post this or no one else will know, and thats why hes been in buissness for 25 years.

That is pathetic. There is no excuse for a defective product espectially one that obvious. I hope your not paying shipping. Definatly contact somebody in a higher position and get the low down.
