LEGIT sellers of 3rd gen parts?
I'm having some issues finding a good rated online seller for the particular parts I need, I hear good and bad things about 1AAuto, about a 50/50 for them, I hear good things and bad things about CamaroCentral...
I'm looking for the inner and outer window sweeps WITH the top door rails that they mount onto as well as door weatherstripping for both sides. Now I found what I needed on 1AAuto but can anyone tell me from personal experience who is the best?

Try hawksthirdgenparts.com or thirdgenranch.com they sell used and new parts, you can call hawks and they will check there parts cars for things not listed I believe.

I used 1A Auto for window sweeps and they worked well. I had to widen then holes in a couple places but nothing that wasn't expected. I bought from Camaro Central in the past also without issue, but it has been years. I just spent 2k with Hawk's and the experience was good as well. I got a damaged part and they are taking care of it without hassle.
I would avoid Thirdgenranch like the plague.

I've never actually bought anything from thirdgenranch, just seen that they seemed to have had a good selection

Re: LEGIT sellers of 3rd gen parts?
I would recommend Classic Industries. I've bought many parts from them (mostly for my 69 camaro), spent thousands of $$ and had no disappointments. Year one is overpriced.
Thirdgen Ranch appears to have fallen on "hard times".
Hawks has an impressive inventory for a premium price. I've made several purchases from them and I must say, nothing comes without some degree of disappointment. Not saying it's bad, just saying to know what you're getting and how much it should cost.

Do yourself a bit of research before recommending someone like thirdgenranch to a prospective customer . The owner , "Denny" , has screwed SO many people here that he was banned from this site because of it ! He had an opportunity to make things right here when several of the Moderators (who were friends of his) tried to help rectify the many issues he caused , but he instead chose to "take the money and run" , a true scumbag if ever there were one . 1A auto maintains a constant presence on this board , and I would deal with Tony at 1A WAY before I'd send money to a known crook like turdgenranch .
Hawks third gen has treated me right also , so again I'd do 1A or Hawks if I needed anything for my car . Another business that treated me well was "Camaro - Firebird Central" , I got some plastics from them that fit 100%

1AAuto is top notch and for aftermarket parts so is Summit Racing .
Re: LEGIT sellers of 3rd gen parts?
I've had a great experience with hawks so far.
Other than hawks there's jegs, summit, yearone, ecklers too.
I've actually had pretty good luck on craigslist and ebay too for used parts. Haven't been to a junkyard yet. But I'm still early on in the project.

Re: LEGIT sellers of 3rd gen parts?
Yeah I have basically seen the same things about thirdgen ranch as Orangebird has said. There isn't much good about them out there, so I would stay away from them. They are kind of overpriced on a lot of their stuff anyways. The gauge cluster they list, the intellitronix one, they are asking almost $500 for it and I got it from somebody who sells them new with lifetime warranty on ebay for just over $200. Other parts are overpriced too, but their bad publicity on here alone is enough for me to never deal with them.
I ordered my weatherstripping for my entire car from some place called Tamaraz I believe they are called. I haven't actually installed it yet as I am getting ready to paint the inside and outside of my car, but it was pretty much the cheapest price I found on full weatherstripping kits. I think the price that everybody asks for weatherstripping is outrageous, even if most think it's not. So I am willing to take a risk on this set because it was so cheap. Hopefully I don't regret it.

If you can find Fairchild weather strip / seals - buy them over an other aftermarket brand..... They are easily the best aftermarket window and door seals I've ever used.
http://afproducts.automotivefairchil...lacement-parts
Sometimes they can be found thru JC Whitney - & that's good because they often offer discounts on the products they sell.

I would advise against "SoffSeal" or "Metro" seals,...... OK because they are cheap - but that's about all they have going for them.

We carry the Fairchild door seals, here's a link to them. If there's anything else that you guys like from them, let me know.
I've worked with these guys to develope and test fit seals for various applications.

Re: LEGIT sellers of 3rd gen parts?
I bought a ton of stuff from Denny at 3rdgenranch and never had an issue, however that was over two years ago. I tried to get in touch with him a few weeks ago through his website and didn't have any luck. I finally found one of his CL adds and was able to contact him, but I will never do business with him again. Too risky in my opinion.
I have bought stuff from most of the heavy hitters like Classic Ind., Ecklers, and Year One and never had an issue. Haven't bought from 1A yet, but paln to do so here in the near future. For used stuff I can't source off of Ebay, or locally, I've been going to Trans Am Creations (http://www.tacreationsusa.com) and have had a great experience.
