I've got an '87 GTA 350..I was in at Summit two days ago and they said the StealthRam would not fit. I asked if a section of the hood brace is removed would it fit then...They weren't sure.
What is your guys take on this. I'm sure I've read that it has been done. Just looking to sway intakes and that StealthRam seems the most affordable.
Do you also have to buy aftermarket fuel rails and lines???
Thanks.

I've heard that removing some of the supports of the stock hood would allow clearence. Also, you will need to adapt your existing fuel lines to the fuel rails included with the HSR. That being said, the HSR will come with fuel rails, so you in essence you will need new ones, but they will be there already.

The fuel lines are two separate part numbers. So it doesn't "come with it" you'll order them at the same time.Originally posted by RSblkcam

On my 91 I had to trim some of the hood structure near the center. The accordian intake tubing still rubs just barely but it clears other than that.

I'm also looking at the superram. Which on is the easier of the two to install and best bang for the buck??
Thanks for all your input.

Best bank for the buck is the HSR. If I was to goto a front mounted TB setup again, it would be either miniram or HSR.. Originally posted by sparks454

The lt1's are a nice cheap conversion, but I can't deal with the remote thermostat. (personal opinion, I know it works just fine)
In relation to the original question. I'd just make sure the motor doesn't twist too much and put a notch in the hood.
A lot of cars with big motors, and junk motor mounts like to shake.
