Strut tower brace for HSR on camaro
Hi everyone, This question goes out to those who have installed the Holley(Weiand) Stealth Ram on their thirdgen Camaros. I don't recall what the differences are, if any, to the Firebird, as far as hood clearance goes. My question is, what if any strut tower brace are you running with the HSR? I know it's taller than the TPI so the typical TPI braces won't just bolt up without modification. With the HSR installed, is there room for a cross brace over the top of the plenum under the stock hood? Thanks for your feedback.

i dont believe any will fit out of the box. you will need to modify something. the HSR is just too tall

Re: Strut tower brace for HSR on camaro
I can third that. I built a copy of the BMR brace which worked fine with my TPI but not with the HSR. Even after I stripped out the insulation, I found the studs holding the louvers (and probably other things) were hitting the part over the plenum. And, if anyone wants to know, the OEM composite hood wont clear the HSR either, I tried...

Thanks for the responses guys. I appreciate your time. 86iroct5, I didn't see in the link what mods were done to that member's HSR.
One option I found was done for the vettes. I can't remember the name of the company now, doesn't really matter I suppose since they no longer appear to be in business or at least aren't doing the HSR anymore. They cut into the base of the plenum so that it fits down over the runners. I've seen some cases where vette owners did their own. The company that did these claimed an increase in flow with their finished product, while also clearing the C4 hood(about at 3/4" height reduction?). They also made the HSR into an air gap style. For $1,000 it doesn't sound like a bad deal. Again though, doesn't appear that they do it anymore.
