As far as I know, the only alternative to TPI that is emissions compliant is the LPE/Accell Super Ram. The Holley Stealth Ram, LT1, etc., are not legal for our series/gen of cars.

Now you can go with upsized TPI components like the SLP or Accell or TPIS runners, port out the plenum and TPI lower intake manifold, larger throttle body if needed, etc., but that's about it to stay completely emissions legal.

Hope this helps.....

on a TPI intake, i don't know if they are EPA legal or not, you can contact them & ask, but the intake does have provisions for an EGR valve.

Well

Your in Chicago, I'm in NW IN we both have to suffer with bs related emission testing like the IM-240 we both have to endure.

As far as legal stuff goes, your stuck with the Lingen or Edelborck bases ans suitable aftermarket runners or superram.

I do know, if you are capable of tuning or know someone who is, you can run pretty much whatever u want and as long as it is not too outrageous you can make it pass.

My hottcammed vortec headed 350 tpi setup passed with no emissions equio. other than a cat converter and it passed cleaner than my stock GTA did when tuned right.

later

how **** are they about visual inspection under the hood? are they like california where if it isn't factory or CARB approved it doesn't fly?
my car passed 2 speed dyne here, stock motor, no working EGR, empty cats, around 60.000+ miles on the last tuneup & over due on the oil.
