Did you use red paint or red powdercoat? Picked up the injectors and throttle body yet? How about the coolant neck? I got a coolant neck from TPIS and it was like, $19. It fit perfctly.
I like the button cap fasteners on the fuel rails-- nice touch.
You seen my setup yet? It's similar but based on the original miniram. It works wonderfully. You will like yours when it's installed, I am sure.

You most definantly need to install 3.70 gears or more, or your will loose that bottom end torque. Anyway, TPIS suggest 3.73 or higher.

Talked to Chris at TPIS this morning and they don't produce thier mono blade anymore. Arizona Speed & Marine makes a monblade, I tried to call to verify but they are still closed on mountain time 2 hours difference.

no ****, whats the world coming to when you cant buy the $695 monoblade from tpis. as&m still makes them, but you wont like the price. what you will like is that fact that you have just bought the most bad *** tb that money can buy!

well the intake is bolted on now. Im going to let it sit overnight. Monday I am going to finish assembly. TPiS really dropped the ball on the fuel rail instructions though. They just send you a coil of braided line and some fittings and you're supposed to figure out where they go. Normally that wouldnt be hard, but I think im missing some fittings. We'll see. Pics soon!

quick pic of it on. Ran out of time, but all I really have left is to fab the fuel lines, distributor, tb, and relocate the MAT.

i like it can't wait to get mine started i see you put a t56 in your car did you ever try driving the car at all before you got the vss hooked up to the dakota digital box? because i just did my swap and the car ran fine before and then i drove the car after and i didn't have the vss hooked up at all and it runs really crappy now!

yeah. You need to get a chip burned for a manual car now. My car was the same way. I couldnt get the dakota box to work, so I havent had a speedo for a couple years lol I had a buddy of mine do a speed density swap on my car, and with some creative programming in the chip, he should be able to get my speedo working through the speedo buffer in the 730 ecm.
At least thats how I think it works lol

if you look at the back of your pontiac cluster, there are 3 or 4 screws that connect directly with the spedo, one has an s (signal) and the others are marked for power and ground, but it has been a while since i did mine. then you just run another signal wire out of the box to the vss input on the pcm.

Went to my machine shop last night. They cut my braided line and installed my aeroquip fittings. I have the fuel lines and injectors in. I reconnected my vacuum hoses, and coolant hoses. Installed the CTS, and thermostat. I started to cut the coolant nipple off the TB but I really need a bench grinder to finish that.
I ran out of time last night...had a family emergency. Hopefully I'll be able to bolt the distributor on, relocate the mat and install the TB/air intake duct, finish my wire looms, and take it for a test drive
My new chip for the intake/30lb injectors should be in today, so I'll be ready to go!

Gave everything a double check, all looks good. MAT is relocated and air intake is on, radiator is full of coolant. Im taking baby steps huh? LOL Anyway, I go to drop the distributor in last night and notice the gear is worn oddly. Upon further inspection, the damn distributor shaft was bent! I have another distributor with a bad pickup. Both distributors are at the shop now getting parts all swapped out so I will have one good distributor to put in. Hopefully I'll get to start it tonight.

Got it all buttoned up last night. Distributor dropped in, wires in the looms etc. Turned the key, and fuel everywhere
Apparently when people say "you dont need those injector clips" it means, "you DO need those injector clips" lol I went to take my clips off my stock fuel rail, and long story short, I need new clips. Local dealer has em for $8 a piece, or I can get them from Summit for $4.88 for 8. I wont have them till monday though, and thats if I pay an overnight fee
I might just go to the dealer. I need to finish this intake and get some miles on the car. I have some upcoming road trips and car shows!
Not enough hours in the day....

You have the wrong waterneck. You have the corvette one.

The waterneck I got looks like a damn stock waterneck that they cut and re-welded. Or a corvette one should work. Or one with a swivel neck. I got everything together and hope to fire it up tonight!

Well, all I gotta say is daayummm!! Car pulls like a train right to 6200 now with ease. You do lose some torque down low, but its more than made up for up top! I dont think its the BEST way I could have spent $1300 as far as performance goes lol, but it was definitely a step in the right direction!

might not seem like a good way to spend 1300 right now, but put some afr's on there with a monster cam and you will be happy. hell, just ported vette l98 heads with a .530 lift cam would kick your *** into the seat.
glad to hear you got it running.

is your car properly tuned? I've heard that you need extensive tuning with the miniram...or something. I dont know. I DO want to see PCMForless down in NC and get a dyno tune

thats who did my tune it was on the dyno when they tuned it it only made 260rwhp the way it rolled in and 281rwtq so for only spending $275 i got my car dynoed and picked up over 30hp and 20tq so not to bad they thought it was good numbers i kinda have a small cam and said i should have had the heads and intake ported and the hp drops off at 5800 it still pulls past that but it just goes down hill right after 5500

Dont mean to get off subject. I was considering doing the miniram but then i read about some kind of uneven air flow things and it got me scared. Something about them running lean. Was this just a myth or is there any solid proof to this?

Here is a quote from the thread and i found this in a couple places.
The problem with the LT1/MiniRam is that the rear cylinders run rich when idling. According to TPIS, at full throttle the front cylinders tend to be rich as the speed of the incoming air tends to run towards the back of the plenum.
The only real way to compensate is with a sequential fuel inj. system. I'm using a wideband to keep my idle fuel close to 14.0 and run slightly rich at WOT (12.6-12.8).

that is true to some extent, but remember, your tpi setup was/is the exact same way on the air flow being uneven.
it does not really cause to many problems, especially for a mild street motor. you might need to tune it a little different if it were a huge cam'd motor, but still nothing to defer you from buying a mini ram on just that principle.
