Holley or Edlebrock

how many people are running each of these manifolds? What are your opinions on them with regards to height, casting, fuel rails, intake ports, etc.

Holley 9901

Edelbrock 29785

I couldn't get a whole lot of info on them, I'm leaning towards the edelbrock one looks to be a lower profile. There will be a doghouse and single blade tb on it like the buicks.

The edelbrock doesn't qutie have the potential that the holley, or accel intakes have. Plus I don't like the way the fuel rails mount.

That being said, they are more low profile than the holley unit, and since my holley won't fit under the hood in a '91 Corvette, it's for sale.

I'll be going miniram next. I think after that I'll have pretty much tried all the different intake designs.

Shoot me some pics of your holley. I may be interested. If I could mill it down a 1/2" it might be workable.......

You can't . 1/4" at most. WIth my turbonetics TB hat, I had to remove the hood supports on my trans-am hood to clear.. The motors now going in a C4 corvette, and it won't even come close to clearing. so miniram is next for me.

HMMMM thats a shame I may have to rethink also. Even if you had to weld a doghouse to the manifold after it's milled it might have worked....

pete, why not just get a cowl hood (or maybe even a twin turbo style) to clear you turbo v8 in that tta's engine bay? its not like your going for originality with that car.

Look wise I am, I may even put all the turbo badges back on it

Gotta measure my doghouse and find the manifold height.......

Thanx

Besides I really can't stomach the aftermarket hoods for the 3rd gen firechickens! A cowl on a Z is decent but feel there aren't any other options for the bird,,,,, JMO.

true, it is a love it or hate it with the birds.

i got a motion glass twin turbo hood on my bird and i think it looks good, but thats my opinion as well because lots of people say it looks to 80's. oh well go figure, an 80's style hood on and 85, lol.
