Crate 383
hey everyone. I'm thinking of putting a stealth ram on a vortec crate engine from Jeg's.
This is the engine :
JEGS High Performance - Blueprint Engines 383ci SB-Chevy 405HP / 440TQ
I have two questions. One, will the cam that comes with the engine do well with the HSR/TPI ecm (with lots of tune work, I know, already prepared for that) 2400 stall, 3.73s, 1 3/4 headers, 4 inch exhaust?
Two, am I going to need a 52mm TB or can I stick with my stock 48 with good results?
Any advice will be appreciated!

That cam looks like the edel perf rpm cam. Why are you buying a flat tappet block? I think blueprint sells the motors themselves, check the web and see. Ask them if you can get the same motor in the 87-up roller block intead of the flat tappet block, it could save you some money in cam and lifter costs.
Is this a daily driver? That converter stall is too low even for a dd. I would go no less than 2800. Made the mistake of spending money for a 2200 stall before. Is it better than stock? Maybe. Will you be pulling the trans later when you want more stall? Yes.
The 48mm tb will work. Run the 48mm in the meantime since it is a easy swap and concentrate on getting the internal motor parts and converter correct. Any bolt-on's like the tb you can always do later.
