whats up with this? hows this happening?

ok..dont know if you guys been readin my threads about my timing issues..but anyways, Im in the process of fixin an oil leak on my front balancer seal and having to remove the dizzy to fix the timing...when I removed my plenum I found this?...gas all over the back gasket and in one of the bolt holes....what caused that? loose bolts?

heres some pictures...I also removed my plugs and they all look perfect Im guessing...SO I havnt been running lean or rich..right?

see the different color of the front vs back gasket? the back one is soaked

gas all over the gasket

in the bolt hole

all over the bottom of the plenum

plugs look good, right?

Re: whats up with this? hows this happening?

The liquid in the bolt hole almost looks like tranny fluid, as for the gas build up on the gaskets I had the same thing along with the plugs looking fine, but my gas build up was from the spark plugs not being long enough to properly ignite the A/F mixture. My only suggestion right now would be that maybe the injectors are allowing more fuel on those cylinders and since the those cylinders are the first place the fuel goes and the last place it leaves maybe you are seeing a fouled injector, if your injectors are new then never mind that comment. I will continue to ponder........

Looks like oil getting sucked out of the PCV..

Re: whats up with this? hows this happening?

what do you mean?
I am using the fitting under the plenum for the PVC? ..is that a problem?

where is that gas coming from?...since you mentioned the PVC...Im assuming that is gas/oil mixed.....

I just spoke with a friend of mine here at work...and he would think there would have to be some sort of negative pressure to suck gas back up ...seeeing the pleum is just for air intake to shoot it down the runners. ...

Try your fuel pressure regulator, could have a torn diaphram leaking gas into the vacuum line.

That is oil coming from the PCV valve. Put some kind of filter in there to slow/stop it.
