I have the edlebrock E-tec (Vortec style heads). I really don't know much abuot the mini-ram intake--who makes it and is there a version to bolt up to my heads?

thanks

I dont think that you can use the vortec heads with the mini ram. TPIS makes the mini ram so if you have any questions about it I would give them a call.

Check out www.tpis.com for the MiniRam. There website sucks donkey ***** , but they list one for fast burn heads. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Fast Burns are Vortec style.

871LEIroc,

If the mini ram doesn't bolt on to your heads then you can try the ram jet. Thats supposed to be a nice piece. GM makes it. Check it out.

With a cam of 196/206 and 431/451 and comp at 9.4, it delivers a pretty flat torque curve all the way up to 4500 where it starts to slowly back off. Probably because of that small cam. Not bad though.

Re: Min Ram for Vortec heads

If you read through TPIS's site, you will find that the MiniRam has enough metal to actually cover the Vortec intake ports, unlike alot of other intakes; and if you tell them that that's what you're putting it on, they will CNC the ports ¼" higher (or whatever it is) for you and drill the other holes. For a fee of course.

I bought a miniram III from TPIS for my L31 heads. They fit the fast burn and vortec ports, but you have to re-drill the L31 intake pattern for older style bolt pattern.
No problem, I used old intake gasket for pattern and drilled on a good press. Heads off engine, of course.

Call them and ask them is they have any 'blemished' intakes. I bought my miniram 'blemished' for $300 bucks less than the regular price and the only thing wrong with it is the 'TPIS' logo is have readable. Intake still works the same.

When I got my miniram III, they made them up as ordered and didn't have any "blems".
Good Luck
