Look into either the TPIS mini ram or the Holley Stealth ram. Everyone is a little different into what they prefer.

For a cold air system, one thing often overlooked, would be to go to a really good exhaust shop and have them bend stainless steel or chrome thinwall tubing to make you a cold air system. This is especially true with firebirds, as they already have an air tube. I have seen some really talented work come out of exhaust shops. Good luck!!

I tend to agree with that.I picked up noticeable (seat of the pants)By switching to an open element on my tbi truck and some of the ultimate tbi mods. Not to mention an average of 30 extra miles out of a tank of gas.All from sucking in hot under hood air. Supreme Member

Firebirds have a really restrictive intake system. There is a lot of power to be found through less restrictive intake systems.

Re: Whats the best intake?
For a Camaro, I think that the best cold air intake system are the ones that bring in the air where the fog lamps sit for the IROCZs. Remove the airlid, remove the twin filters, and now remove the baffles that you find below the filters. Get some duct work that will bring cold air right up to the air filters. The inlet, like I said, is beside the front plate area, on both sides. This duct work will turn 90 degrees, just behind the inlet. TPI Parts or another sponsor here has this made up already for you Camaro owners.
For Firebird owners, things are much different. As suggested above, have a good muffer shop, bend some 4.0" dia tubing; probably need couple 90 degree bends. Use the appropriate cone filter.
