stealth ram + stock tpi harness and ecu

Can i use the complete stealth ram intake with the stock tpi wiring harness and ecu thats already in the car and just get a chip upgrade for the ecu or do i have to get the complete setup with wiring harness for the stealth ram? I want to put a 400 hp 383 stroker in and want to know if the stock harness is a direct fit. Also can brackets from tpi setup be transfered over to the stealth ram? Anything i'm forgetting? Please help, If this is too involved or expensive i'll just go carb. Thanks

Yes, just upgrade your injectors and get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, along with your new PROM, in which should be tailored (burned) for the 383....

Most everything will bolt right up. There are a few things that will need to be clearanced though. The older throttle bodies hit the fuel rails on a stealth ram. I'm not sure of the exact years, but my 89 GTA's throttle body worked fine, I had to bend it slightly.

Everything else was just a matter of a hardware store visit to get the nessesary fittings for the vacuum lines. All of the TPI sensors should bolt up without issue. Though there is no provision for the cold start injector.

Re: stealth ram + stock tpi harness and ecu

where on the throttle body did u bend it to cleanance? i got an 87 and im preparing to put a 500hp 383 HSR in, i got an aftermarket 58mm TB and i dont have any clearnace issues. im pretty sure u cant bend anything on the TBs except the lines on the pass side but not sure how u did that

everything will bolt up. no cold start injector. u need small cap distributer with external coil. and u need to bend or make new fuel lines. oh also the stock water neck wont work and u need another new one as well as the heater hose that attaches to it from the top of the radiator. other than that u need new injectors, ADJFPR, chip, no cold start, and i believe a 3/8" intake plug for the bottom/underneith of the plenum. u'll also need fittings for vacume lines etc. and a intake cooling fitting for the front of the intake. im prob missing more tho. mite have probs fitting your altinator on there depending on ur pully setup as well

the very tip of the throttle arm where the cable attached hit the fuel rails. I probably bent the very bottom of it about 1/8th of an inch and it passed by just fine. My GTA had the nautilus style throttle body bracket.
