Sleepybu, I think he was referring to me being excited about the Massflo system and their "hype" about not having to spend hours on a laptop computer messing around trying to get the car to run right. As soon as I try it out, I'll post what happens, so everyone will know whether or not it truly is hype. I just know that the two engines in town here work well with the system, and the owners love it.

he used the HSR like a few of us are doing. He's also using (going to use) the $59 code like a few of us are. He's got a pretty damn nice build going.

Sweet, sounds awesome. I just think it's really cool how different things can work well. It's fun to try out new things to see how they work, and it can be fun to try to get stuff to work through learning how to tune.

The Professional Products system was actually developed and is manufactured by these guys: http://www.retrotekspeed.com.
I was on the Hot Rod Power Tour last year. The owner of Retrotek Speed was on the Tour for a couple of stops with their test mule, unfortunately, a late 60's Mustang. Interestingly, the car was fitted with both the MPFI and TBI systems. Only one system worked at a time and he could move between systems with the flick of a switch. He said that both systems made the same amount of power and had the same driveability.
The system uses a WBO2 sensor and can tune the AFR itself. Note, however, that this system does not tune spark. I believe it has the ability to, but the base system does not.
FWIW, there are many people running blowers and turbos and carbs. When you go supercharged, you will need to dump the big nasty cam. Boosted engines need a wide LSA on the cam, on the order of 112-114 degrees. This will produce a more stable idle and much more vacuum and the carb will be much happier. My guess is that you are currently running an out of the box Holley. You need to install slosh tubes in the metering blocks to keep the fuel from flooding the engine in the situation you described - very cheap mod. Drag racers have to use them to keep the fuel in the front bowl from flooding the engine on launch. Paying someone to properly set up your carb for a turbo should be much cheaper than converting to EFI.
That said, I have to admit I have been looking at the Retrotek system for my supercharged '69, which currently blows through a Holley 650 DP. I am pretty sure the system is boost compatible. My only objection is the fact that I woon't see any increase in power going from carb to FI.
One other thing to consider. Blowers and turbos heat up the air going into the engine. The higher up the intake tract you introduce the fuel, the cooler the air/fuel mixture entering the cylinder will be. I dyno'ed my 69 one day when it was hot and muggy. During the dyno runs, the lower part of the carb would get very cold and covered in sweat. You won't get that amount of cooling effect injecting the fuel at the head port.

Yes he was.
Thanks for all the input guys, but I still don't have any info here that I didn't already know.
I am still looking for a turnkey setup that has been proven by someone on here. Its alright though. I hae changed gears again.
I think I will be getting a D1-SC, new cam, blower carb and calling it a day with this motor. That should be good for at least 650 HP. Should be fun street car with 4.11s. But before I do that I am going to look into cog drive info, Air ride, and some more updated K-member and A-arm stuff. I don't like my PA racing stuff. Very out dated.

Did you ever call the guys at Massflo? Just wondering.

Nope I never bothered. I will be building a D1-SC setup blowing though a carb. F.I. is not really worth it for how much I drive this car and how much I am going to have to spend to get the blow though up and running. + air ride + new K-member and a-arms.

With that said, a lot of things you cannot do on a carb, can be done with EFI..
I've run both, and will continue to. On my 412 probably be carb unless I come across a smoking great deal on a intake/throttlebody/injectors and LSx pcm w/ maf to tune it. When you consider a decent manifold (carb) is $300, and a perfect blow-through supercharger carb is under $800, it's hard to not look at the economics of it.
But like you, I won't be driving this 1970s aggressive cammed car around every day.
