Re: MAP sensor location

So long as it sees manifold vac it doesn't matter.
I believe some trucks came with a remote mount MAP

Re: MAP sensor location

yes-direct dedicated vacuum line from the intake manifold to the map sensor with no tee's, y's or what have you in between.

Re: MAP sensor location

Yep, i have map sensor with dedicated line from plenum to the map. Should work fine that way, it doesnt have to be directly attached to the manifold

Re: MAP sensor location

huh... now you have me thinking, where did the SD TPI cars run theirs from? Either the later TPI's had more vacuum fittings or they pretty much had to have it T'ed somewhere.

Re: MAP sensor location

LT1 cars had the sensor directly mounted to the Plenum and I thought the TPI cars were the same?

Re: MAP sensor location

LT1's had them mounted right behind the throttle body on top of the plenum, but they were only really there to detect emissions tampering.

TPI cars have them mounted on the firewall on the passenger side on the firewall, but I don't know how it's connected to the plenum.

Mine is bolted to the plenum but uses a special L shaped hose to pull the vacuum from the plenum.
