HELLLLLPPPPPP GASKET WOES!!!!!! HSR/PROFILER/deck not 0ed!

HELP, for the love of god help. I have a major issue.

I have my engine built up to the intake. The intake won't line up. It is close, but no mas. The felpro 1205 for the HSR is too thick.

My block was never decked, as it did not need it. I have profiler 185 heads on it and the HSR lines up with the holes without the gasket, so I know I have the right intake base.

The problem comes when I add the gasket. The holes do not line up right. The gasket seems too thick, and the holes are halfway covered by the gasket.

My question, is that, is there a gasket that will work with this? It seems as if I need a gasket half as thick.

Another thing....the profilers are a 1206 gasket, the stealth ram is a 1205. I have so much *I'm an idiot* money thrown into it that I do not have enough to port the intake to match yet. Do I just get whatever equivalent 1206 type gasket that is thin enough and port later? If so....what is this mystical gasket? PLEASE HELP!

the chevy gaskets are all around .60 thou thick for 23 degree heads,
i would think the issue isnt the thickness, are the gaskets protruding into the ports ? (check down the intake with a torch)
if they arent can you just ream the holes to suit ?

I have used felpro 1205/1206 on decked and undecked blocks and not had any issue.

if you have a 1206 head and 1205 intake, I would use a 1206 gasket.

also mr. gasket s are a bit softer than felpro's.

The gasket thickness slightly alters the bolt holes so they do not line up. If I remove the gasket, then the hsr lines up perfectly with the heads. Could the gasket just be bad/improperly stamped?

you havent got the gaskets upside down ?, that would cause the holes to not line up .

Yep. It is still too thick. ..... I'm going to get the hsr milled the .030 to fit. Sucks, but it is just under 100 bucks, and a quick fix. Thanks for your suggestions though. This is a tough nut to crack.

I feel your pain, I have a 1205 that sucks into cylinders 2 and 4 on overun (getting off the throttle at high rpm), which is probably my Procomp manifold not being true to heads, so its got to come off again, Im going to use a Mr Gasket 1206 equivalent.
good luck with yours !

Yep. Though mine cost 65. Not to bad. What a hell of an issue though.
