Dual filter ram intake

How does the factory dual filter ram intake work? I can't find how the lay out is and I'm adamant on going with the air coming in through the front. This is because the two front corners a cold air intake would normally go is taken up already by other things. So I'm curious how this intake set up works OR if anyone knows of a similar or better set up for the air to come in from the front for a ram intake.

Re: Dual filter ram intake

It's not really a ram air setup on the Camaro TPI airbox, but it is isolated to cold air. You could remove the silencers and put scoops in to make it ram air, but also know that you could have the most optimal, coldest, high-rammin intake there is and it won't make your car faster.

For a street car, get filtered air any way you can. Colder is better but sucking behind a headlight is fine.

Well I have a 1984 Berlinetta, so it has those three slats in the front bumper. I was thinking about finding a way to use those to direct air into the intake manifold. I don't know if anyone's already done that kind of set up or if anyone would know of a way to do that. The TPI manifold so far looks the closest to what I have in mind.
