Guys-
I used to have a set of 91-92 RS/Z28 rims mounted on my IROC...
Currently, I have IROC rims mounted on.
I really love the 91-92 25th Anniversary style wheels, and the only reason I switched was because they were the version with the white trim on em (yuck).
Now, I'd like to switch back to the 91-92s.. but I want the silver versions.
So I am stuck... should I:
A) Use a remover to take off the white trim on the wheels and turn them into silver versions? (I don't know how much work this would be, but I am guessing alot and I don't want to ruin the rims...)
B) Buy a set of silver 91-92 RS/Z28 rims and sell the ones w/ the white trim. (They are in decent shape, not perfect)
What do you guys think I should do here?
Thanks

I have a set of silver rims on my 91.. really do not care for them. I will be looking at selling them as soon as I get different rims to put on it.

There is a place here in Tampa that refinishes and repairs stock rims. I know that doesn't help you much out there but I just wanted to share costs abd benifits with you. They will repair, round, polish and clear coat your rims for about 500.00 and the clear has a LIFETIME fade crack peel warranty. Look around there and you may fine a shop locally to do it for you. I have seen transwheels work and it's amaizing. Check them out at

I decided to do my own for lack of money. I used stripper I bought at Wal-Mart (brush on kind) and brushed it on all the surfaces. Followed that with a buffing wheel on a drill starting with first stage cleaner and worked my way down. It took about 3 hours per wheel and removed the little ridges left from the machining. I used a strong degreaser to clean everything up and they look unbelievable. You could almost shave in them theyre so nice. I left the silver area in tact and it highlights it nicely. I'm just debating on whether or not to baint them black to bring out the shine more.

Cool, yeah.. I'm thinkin' just buying a set of silvers and selling the white trims would be the smoothest, least frustrating way..Originally posted by Camaro_hunter_d:

When you're ready to sell, let me know, I'm interested.
