Check Out my Meguiar's Shine And my 5in tach!

I just spent the whole day washing and waxing my 89. I used the meguair's 3-step wax and it was the best wax i've ever bought. I am so excited about getting this thing done and legal to drive. So far i've covered the engine New 355 carbed, bitchin stereo, almost done with the body. I just need good red front seats, a new console, carpet, and new tires. What do you guys think? This car has been off the road for a while. The other picture is of my 5in autometer tach. I mounted it up top between the tt's. What do you guys think about that? When i get my new headliner installed, should i put it back up there?

Here is the pic of my tach. You can almost see my new radio. It is an Alpine Cda-D852. 1 1/2 din size. It's awesome sounding. I matched it up with kenwood 4-way 6x9's in the back and infinity 4x6's in the front. I have a box on the rear shelf housing 2 10in ppi's and a ppi amp also.

Yeah, I love the Meguiar's 3 step too. YOu should have used a clay bar too. That's a different spot for a tach.

Here's a pic from when I used Megs. The dent doesn't look too bad in this pic.

I would think you would need to take your eyes off the road a little for it, but the light is bright enough to mount in the hatch area and still see it.

I like where I mounted mine, on the A Pillar, I'd post a pic but I'm not at my computer right now.

Mark, i looked at the clay bar, but i don't quite understand how it works or if it would've been a good idea for me? What exactly does it do? Could you tell a difference?

USING THE CLAY BAR :

u first spray on the showtime polish (lightly) then u go over it w the clay bar, using side 2 side or up and down strokes.
(don't press 2 hard let the bar do the work!
great 4 tar and BUGS!!

big diff. try the kit its worth it!!

OH THE CAR!! like the color but its hard to get white to shine bright .., trust me.

The clay bar removes all the contaminant on top the paint. It definately made the car a lot smoother, and helped the shine.

1982 chevyCamaro, i dunno if it was $100 in summit. I paid $109 for it at the speed shop. It is an autometer autogage memory/shiftlite. I really like it...ut it disturbs me that all the ricers in town come up to my car and talk about getting one because it looks cool ARGH!! i told a group of ricers last night that the tach wouldn't work right unless they had v-8's HEHE

I think i'll go out and buy a clay bar kit today. Definately worth a try.

Yeah, I used it all over, but you must make sure the surface is completely wet.

Mark which clay bar were you using? I would go back and look through your posts but you have 5400 of them. I could have sworn you were only at 5000 last week. My car is in deperate need of a wash. The restrictions on water have been lifted. I have the 3 step MEGs just havent done it in a while. I was going to pick up a turle wax clay bar kit. May do a search on what people have used. I am really tempted to take my front g/fx and paint it as well to atleast get something temporarily.

I got the clay bar that came with Mother's Polish Spray. You spray no the polish and use that as the lubricant. Worked well.

Yeah, I should be at 6000 post in 2 weeks or so.

Cool I will have to stop and pick some up... And I thought I spend alot of time on this site. Actually I prolly spend 10 hours of my day on the boards here lately. Mostly just reading and researching.

Yeah, being at college in the middle of nowhere, and only having 4 classes leaves me with a little time on my hands.

I picked up the Meguiar's clay bar and polish yesterday. I can't decide if I want to spend saturday washing and waxing or maybe driving up to Spohn Performance.

Its suppose to be nice. Not sure... I should prolly just do a search but does anyone know how to get the hood blisters off? I am sure it is the same as the iroc panels. Just thought I would ask real quick. I bought touch up stuff. Figured I would make my blisters functional this weekend...
