Anywho, you have the second best looking Third Gen around here, behind 86FyrBird's. I just love how the Hugger Orange goes with the polished IROC wheels.

nice lookin ride.......im just wonderin what where the steps you did to paint gfx. Did you do some sanding or just went over it. And did you put a layer of clear coat on it. I wanna paint mine but just don't wanna make it look half a$$ed.

first i sanded it down with somewhat heavy grit, then primed it so i could see the pit marks in it. Then i took some nitro-san (glazing putty type stuff) and filled in all the little pot marks . then i primed again, wetsanded with fine grit and sprayed it. It has one layer of clear on top of the base coat....

Mine is the original that came on the car. When i first bought the car about 3 years ago we had to tow the car home on a tow dolly cause it had no tags. WE couldn't get the thing up onto the dolly without taking off the GFX so off they came. Well i busted those little side brackets in the process. I figured i'd just leave em' off since i'd be getting it painted within the next couple months anyway. Well then the clutch went, then i blew the LG4 305 sky high, then i realised the stock 350 that i put in to replace wasn't fast enough yet so the modding began. Then i got to the point where couldn't stand my interior anymore so i redid everything inside. 2 1/2 years later i finally got around to the paint...

you painted your spoiler the same way I did mine. A saw horse works great for the spoiler and gfx. Two saw horses for the front and rear bumpers. Cant wait for some pics with the spoiler finally on. Thread Starter

well, the spoiler is on, but it's been kinda crappy weather for pictures the past two days. It looks nice today though, i'm gonna wash and wax the car this afternoon and take it out for some pics. HOPEFULLY they'll be up today...

I was surprised at how much difference that front end gfx made, thats awesome. Home movies kicks *** too, they play it on adult swim now. Aqua teen hunger force and sealab 2021 are pretty good too :lala:

Thanks for all the comments guys. the next question is whether or not i should put the IROC-Z door decals on. I'm undecided at this point what i want to do about those. what do you think?
oh yeah, the IROC needs a bit more than paint and GFX. The transmission is pretty much shot from sitting for so long, and most of the wiring harness is messed up. I'm currently working on getting all the lights and stuff working. At least i got the engine to run, and run good at that.

Unfortunately i have no photoshop skills so it won't do much good. But if anyone gets the urge to slap a set of IROC_Z door decals on there for me, i won't mind a bit

Eric, that is a very sharp looking car.
When do you plan on starting work on the Iroc?
That will be really sharp, a pair of thirdgens for the shows

so far the IROC has been an off and on project. I put a new fuel pump and relays and stuff in it last fall to get it running, then it went ont he backburner again so i could get the Z painted. I'm gonna really rip into that electrical system here pretty soon on the IROC. The only thing that is really preventing it from running on the streets right now is the lack of lights. Once we have that we're gonna linp it to the tranny shop for a overhual, then it's just little stuff and paint...
