jobs

I am a tech helper for now, i graduated asep(GM tech school program) about a month ago, i have worked at my present job for 3 years I was supposed to go online(tech) when i graduated but it got really slow and i didnt want to risk it, oh btw i make 8 an hour, the highest paid tech in the shop is like 23.50, diesel tech, I used to work in truck shop(1.75 yrs) on 6.5L turbo diesels, medium duty trucks and anything larger than a 3/4 ton, I currently work on cars and turcks malibu intakes always leaking, 350 etc etc etc, kinda fun now, I am working with people i like, my boss always thinks i have a bad additude becuase i think he is an idiot and has no car experience, try to explain something to him, and hes just liek duuuhhhhhh huh, anyway I'm done ranting now, but really they are all nice guys, If i were to go back to high school, now i would have listend to some of my current co-workers, I wouldnt be doing this at all, it sucks no energy I just wouldnt work on cars for a living if I were you. sorry this is so long, but anyway, I get to work on an @sshole van tomorrow oh goodie anyway i jsut got my '86 about 3-4 months ago, it needs a lot of work, the interior is entirely stripped out, need front nose, hood driver's fender, I have a 3.8L series 2 motor(maybe 2 in about a week), that i have a 4l60E to put behind it, I am going to turbo one(do a basic TTA setup but with more moddern parts) anyway, if you want to see my car it is on my website, www.geocites.com/chevylightnin , there is a link at the bottom anyway, I'm tired right now, may add more later.

I work as a chef at my dad's restaurant about 30-34 hours a week and go to college studying automotive technology. I make $10/hr but working for family can suck and it does in my case. And it's not enough to support the 3 cars I have and my debt from them all. Someone buy my IROC and lincoln!! haha..

Just graduated high school, attending Virginia Tech in the fall. Working as a Machinist at a Machine Shop. Good pay, and enjoy every minute of it. Would like to build another engine before I leave for college and purchase a 72 or 73 Nova to drop it in.

Hey 83 MidniteZ, just make sure you don't go past a 75 on the nova's. They started to go family then. 74 is the last year of the muscle, I have one. Just watch the weigh in the rear end, I have heard they can be kind of light.

Is it me or no matter how much you work, it seems you never have enough for the car?

So true.

I am a CNC Programmer for Custom Machine and Fabrication http://www.custommach.com The pay is very good but after paying for my 2000 Z71, the wife's 1999 Malibu, and the 2300 sq ft house on 3.6 acres of land we recently bought kinda limits how much I can spend on my cars. I really want to get the SS hood painted on my RS and I have a set of 91 Z28 GFX I want to put on my 82, but I'll need them painted too, but all that will have to wait a few months. I'm glad I have got my cars about 90% of the way I want them though, because it would almost impossible to start over on either of them in my current situation. I kinda wish I had the several thousand $$$ I had in each car back sometimes, but I would have probably wasted it anyway, and at least I have 2 nice thirdgens to show for it.

every time i think i'm close to being able to afford my dream car ('88 GTA), something else comes up and takes my money. CRAP!
