I am still planning on going, but I haven't committed yet. Since my car doesn't come out in the rain, I don't know if I want to drive it or trailer it yet. Hopefully I'll know tomorrow if I'm going or not.

It's not being able to afford the cars because of my job, because I am unemployed right now....I have a passion for cars and I watch for them. As a steal of a deal comes up, I go for it. All these people that say they can't afford to spend X dollars for a car is BS. You can afford what you want. My neighbors all think I make alot of money, but some of them make more than me and they complain that they can't afford anything. What do they spend the money on? I don't care. I spend my money wisely and not **** it all away on stupid stuff. That makes buying a low mileaged car easy. My IROC cost $10k with 6k miles on it. The Pace Car cost less than $14k and the Olds less than $10k. All of these cars are worth more. I buy them when I find a steal! I pay for them and sacrifice accordingly. Right now, all the cars are paid for except my 2001 truck.

Sorry. I reread my reply and it sound like I was giving out an attitude. I didn't intend for it to appear that way. I was just stating that I am always watching for the good ones and when they show up, you have to move quickly. I had the bank open up a line of credit that just sits there in case a car comes available, I don't need to worry about pre approval or anything. When the right car at the right price arrives, I transfer the line of credit to a money order. I used to do Internet Network Engineering, but the computer and technology industry is falling apart and so are the salaries. The point I was trying to say before was that it's really not hard to afford the things you want if you spend your money wisely. I wasn't giving you an attitude. Sorry if it seemed that way.

The reference to my neighbor sometimes pisses me off, because he used to give me crap about owning these cars and wasting my money. Like it was his business. This is the same guy that earned more than me, drove an 87 Celebrity and also had his wife working. They always complained about not being able to build their 3 season porch because they couldn't afford it. These same people spent over $1k to keep a 14 year old, sick dog alive for 3 more months. I say that's a waste and that could've been money towards the porch.

The one thing I have going for me is a supportive wife. She enjoys the cars and the shows, so she says get'em! I'll worry about paying for 'em later.

Scott,

I am doing the same thing. I have a line of credit open at my bank and when I see the deal, I will jump on it.
