What are my options to get 10 inch wide wheels on the back of a 91 Z28. And what is backspacing, sorry but i'm ignorant about this.

I don't know a lot about wheels.. But I do beleive back spacing is the distance from the mounting surface behind the wheel to the edge of the rim.. Here is a picture that should help.

Thanks for the diagram I understand it now. As far as I know my options for wider wheels are tubbing the rearend, using spacers or having a wheel with differant backspacing is that correct? Which of these is the best solution, I heard that tubbing is going to be expensive and will affect the overall handling of the car in a negative way, and I heard that using spacers is bad for the axle. Any opinions on this?"
